This high-quality two-bedroom villa apartment enjoys spectacular views over Nerja and the Costa del Sol from its spacious, south-facing and sunny terrace. The patio garden, provides extra outdoor sitting space and has a barbecue and a bougainvillea-clad wall. This rental property is furnished to a high standard with a newly refitted bathroom and kitchen. Ceiling fans are fitted in the lounge and both bedrooms. The comfortable lounge/diner has two sofas, satellite television, DVD player, music centre, table and chairs. The lounge and both bedrooms all open on to the terrace and have superb views over Nerja and the Costa del Sol. The large communal swimming pool is the best in Nerja. The centre of Nerja is just over a mile away as is the beach. There is a bus (1 euro per person) from near the apartment to Nerja and the beach throughout the day until 9.00pm. A taxi is approximately 6 euros

Nerja is a lovely seaside town on the favoured eastern Costa del Sol with several beaches. It is about 40 miles from Malaga within driving distance of many beautiful Andalusian cities (such as Granada, Cordoba and Seville). Mountain villages such as Frigiliana, Competa, Torrox pueblo and Maro are all nearby. La Herradura (with its sweeping beach) and Almunecar are just along the coast. The Sierra Nevada is only 90 minutes away by car. San Juan de Capistrano is a peaceful development set in beautiful tropical gardens but within easy reach of Nerja and its beaches, shops, bars,and restaurants. Our villa apartment is on a no-through road (hence traffic noise is minimal) adding to the peace and serenity of the marvellous setting that San Juan de Capistrano offers. The mountains behind the apartment offer opportunities for walks rewarded with wonderful views over Nerja and the Costa del Sol.

Ceiling fans help keep the rooms cool and, unlike air-conditioning, you are able to leave the windows open for fresh air. Mosquitoes are NOT a problem.

Notes:

The two bedrooms and the lounge all lead on to the terrace and are fitted with ceiling fans, which guests have commented are especially useful during the warm summer Nerja nights. San Juan de Capistrano's superb communal swimming pool is one of the best in the Nerja area with pool-side bars and lovely views over the Costa del Sol. Several of our guests have commented that is is the best equipped apartment they have ever stayed in: that is because we also stay there several times a year. It is our second home - not just a rental property. The apartment is fully equipped and even has an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, cool box and ice blocks. There is also a large selection of books to read and some games too. We even supply a pair of binoculars for gazing out to sea!

Excursion possibilities

No stay in Nerja is complete without seeing the atmospheric Nerja caves which feature in the Guiness Book of Records. Several beautiful mountain villages (such as Frigiliana and Competa) are within easy driving distance of Nerja. The coastal towns of Almunecar and La Herradura are also worth a visit. If you want a day away from Nerja, why not take an excursion to Granada (to see the beautiful Alhambra palace) or Malaga? It is even possible to visit the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada and be back in Nerja for a swim in the late afternoon! For those of you who like a bit of 'retail therapy' there is a very large indoor shopping centre about 12 miles away (back towards Malaga) where you can also have a drink, eat tapas and watch a film.

Walking and skiing

Mountain walks through a National Park start within 100 metres of the apartment and they offer fantastic views over Nerja and the Costa del Sol. Other walks are possible from the villages of Frigiliana and Competa near Nerja. The Sierra Nevada Ski resorts are south of Granada and within driving distance (approximately one and a half hours from Nerja). It is said to be possible to ski in the morning and be on the beach in the afternoon!

Golf Information:

There are two golf courses within an easy drive of Nerja. Anoreta golf club is only thirty kilometres away in Rincón de la Victoria and Bavaria Golf is in La Caleta, near Nerja. Although it has only 9 holes at present,the remaining nine are under construction and are due to open shortly. Several other courses are within an hour's drive.

Had the good fortune to spend winter '07 at this wonderful property with a million $ view over Nerja & the Med. The owner, Dan, was most helpful & he helped me with the many questions I had. The directions from Malaga to Nerja were perfect.
The place was spotless upon our arrival & everything was just how it was described. Everything worked & we never ran out of hot water in the shower.There was a guest book with info on restaurants, day trips and Nerja itself .
We took many day trips into the mountains & along the coast & by the time we left, it felt like we lived there. The beach was a 2 minute drive down the hill(many people walked).
All in all, it was a great experience & I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. For further info, feel free to contact me.

Unlike many resorts, Nerja does not close for the winter as it is a working Spanish town with charm in abundance. It is an ideal place for an autumn/winter break. We often walk down to the beach and town in approximately 25 minutes.
