Nerja:
Excellent location for families and those seeking a quieter relaxing holiday. Burriana beach is a mile long, lined with small bars, shops and restaurants, offering everything from paella and traditional Spanish fair to Italian and British food. The paella is cooked on the beach at lunch times, along with fresh fish. You can see the fishermen bring in their catch in the mornings. Just a 5 minute walk takes you to the centre of Nerja. Narrow cobbled pedestian streets take to you Balcon, a promonade which comes alive at night with street artists, the perfect place to stop and have a pre dinner drink and watch the sun set. In the day time it offers fantastic views along the cost. Excellent climate all year round.
Places to go:
Cueve De Nerja - well worth a visit. A huge cave discovered in 1959 by children, has beautiful stalagmites and stalactites as well as wall paintings from the stone age. Inside the caves is a large stage, where many music and art festivals take place. Frigiliana is one the famous white washed villages, sitting high in the mountains, a ten minute drive from Nerja, offers panoramic views to the coast and mountains, wonder around the narrow cobbled streets and you find a selection of bars, restaurants and shops and weekly market. Further afield is Granada with the Alhambra palace. During the winter near Grandad there are the Sirerra Ski resorts, just two hours away. Malaga, Marbella and Puerto Banus are all just over an hour away and worth day trip.
Getting There:
Journey time from Malaga airport to Nerja is about 40 minutes. An easy drive mainly on motorway. Many low cost airlines now operate flights to Malaga, bookable online or through your travel agents. Car hire can also be arranged this way,or through our agent in Nerja, who will arrange for a car to be at the airport for you, although once at the villa a car is not essential. We can arragne either a taxi or minubus to take you directly to the villa.Taxi's from the airport cost about 66 euro's each way, and take 4 people. Minibus cost about 120 euro's each way and take up to 11 people.
