Our villa is a single storey townhouse facing south west for all day sun in the select Pueblo Chimenea on a small headland at the east end of the famous Burriana Beach, a 5 minute walk away. A large lounge/diner gives access to the rear garden terrace with views of the sea and is stocked with flowering mature plants and shade is provided by a scrolling canopy and a parasol. An external spiral staircase accesses a large roof terrace with views of the nearby Burriana Beach and where the sun can be enjoyed from early morning to late evening. The bedrooms are both double size with large ceiling fans which run silent at low speed for all night comfort. The two bathrooms are finished to a high standard. The location is particularly quiet being distanced from road traffic and the hustle and bustle of the beach but close enough to the shore to enjoy an ambience of distant surf. For us, our villa is a second home during the winter months so should satisfy both short and long stay holidays.

Pueblo Chimenea is a small group of villas on a headland at the east end of Burriana Beach with the villa accessed by a passageway scented by orange and lemon trees. The beach is approached by a tree lined road and further east is agricultural land of primarily fruit trees so there is a genuine sense of being on the edge of countryside although so close to Nerja´s largest beach with the most developed facilities of restaurants and water sports. A large supermarket is a 5 minute walk and the local bus stops near the pueblo. For those who want to take the 25 minute stroll into town via the beach there are stunning views of the unspoilt coastline to the east especially on their return in the evening sunset glow. Nerja is a genuine Spanish town retaining its original character of cobbled streets and alleyways lined with small shops and an excellent variety of restaurants, unspoilt by high rise developments and with a hinterland of hills and mountains to challenge the fittest walker.

Notes: This villa offers everything for short or long stay holidays. The lounge and dining table have seating for 6 with SKY freeview channels including British and Irish radio stations on a HD 32 inch LCD TV with DVD player. A separate music centre offers local radio and plays your CDs and MP3s. Electric heaters supplement a Swedish style fire log fire (fan assisted air circulation from around the fire to the room). The kitchen has large work surfaces for those who self cater and a large fridge/freezer for long stay holidays. The modern ceramic hob, oven and microwave are complemented by toaster, coffee maker, kettle, ironing facilities and washing machine. The garden terrace has a table and 4 chairs, 2 reclining chairs and a barbecue. There is shade from a scrolling canopy and a table parasol. The roof terrace has a table and 4 chairs and 2 sun loungers.

Nerja Region: The surrounding countryside is filled with whitewashed Andalucian villages, the closest being Frigiliana a 5 minute drive away and one of the most picturesque hill top villages with a colourful history. The Andalucian region was populated in the past by most Mediterranean civilisations so there is a wealth of history to discover in the towns and villages. Granada and the Alhambra Palace are just an hour and a half's drive away with Cordoba and Ronda accessible within a day trip.

Villa Improvements: We recently purchased this villa for our own use in the winter and have carried out significant improvements for our own benefit which can also be enjoyed by our guests. The primary improvement has been the installation of sound and thermal insulation on ceilings and party walls to create greater comfort and privacy. The bathrooms are also new and completed to a high standard.

Guest Book: The house is so well equipped that we felt as if we were in a home from home and the ambience allowed us to 'switch off' from the moment we set our cases down. We usually take property descriptions on websites with a pinch of salt but it was such a pleasure to find all that you'd promised and more when we arrived. We'll be back!
