El Capistrano is a delightful private development set into the Almijara mountains in Nerja. It is renowned for its wonderful swimming pools and 'Andalucian Pueblo' style architecture set in mature exotic gardens. The village has three outside swimming pools, with lifeguards in high season . The village has its own restaurant which is open for both poolside snacks and meals and also for evening dining. The centre of town is within 20 minutes walk with a bus service running from the Village every 30 minutes. Burriana Beach is a fifteen minute walk or five minutes by car. Nearby, and within walking distance are other bars and restaurants, the tennis club and large supermarket. The villa is approached from a cobbled square, with easy access to parking.

Nerja is a well-established resort, built on a cliff above sandy coves, at the foot of the beautiful Sierra de Almijara. At the heart of the town is the Balcon de Europa, a palm tree lined promenade built along the edge of a cliff and out to sea with panoramic views of the Mediterranean and Nerja's sandy beaches stretching to over 16 kilometres in total. The Balcon is a real treat at night when it is beautifully lit and street performers of all kinds come into their own! Shopping is plentiful and there is a local market every Tuesday. If you do not want to drive, local travel companies have trips to Granada, Ronda, Marbella, Gibraltar, Seville and Cordoba throughout the year. It is just 20 minutes to the nearest golf course.

Notes:

Internally there is an open plan sitting room and dining room. The fully fitted kitchen has a full size electric oven, four burner gas hob, micro-wave, fridge freezer and washing machine. There is a newly installed downstairs cloakroom. The villa has satellite TV with BBC, ITV & Sky programmes. Both bedrooms have balconies, one with sea views one with westerly views. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans. There are electric heaters for winter evenings. The bathroom has bath and shower. The west facing walled garden is very private, and all on one level, so is safe for small children. The garden table sits six people comfortably. There is a patio with barbeque. The sun is in the garden all afternoon and evening. The villa is a short stroll from the heart of the village, where there is a well stocked supermarket as well as two swimming pools plus children’s pools, a restaurant, car-hire, cash point & public telephones.

Travel & Guests' Comments

Malaga airport to El Capistrano Village takes approximately 40 minutes. A bus runs from Malaga to Nerja, which stops at the entrance to the village. Buses run from Nerja to Torre del Mar, Frigiliana, the Caves of Nerja and Almunecar.

Things to Do

Nerja is a fantastic central location. The Sierra Almijara mountains behind Capistrano Village are a National Park with great walk, and views. The famous Caves of Nerja are a very short distance from Capistrano, and are some of the most spectacular in Spain. Frigiliana is a short drive away, a typical whitewashed village set high in the mountains, wonderful restaurants, market and gift shops. A visit to the Alhambra Palace at Granada is a must (although it is essential to book a day or two in advance). There are golf courses within a short drive, and water-sports on the beach.

Other Comments:

Our Managing Agents' office is a 3 minute walk from our villa. They are open all year round and will personally show you to the villa on arrival. They will sort out any problems whilst you are staying in Nerja and can help with excursions etc. Bookings should be made by email or telephone and your reservation will be confirmed as soon as we receive a completed booking form plus the required deposit. Do not book your flights until your booking is confirmed.
