Our peaceful and relaxing apartment is close to restaurants, golf courses and beaches. The self catering apartment is fully equipped and has air conditioning and a safe. It is set within a beautiful, low density development and has two outdoor pools and an ornamental water feature set in grounds exclusive to the apartments. Adjacent is a Country Club with bar, restaurant, swimming pool and Spa. Outside is a pool, tennis and paddle courts and a cafe bar. The self catering apartment has been tastefully furnished and is well equipped and has cable TV and DVD player. The large balcony/terrace affords views over the Med and up to Mijas and the surrounding mountains. To make the most of your stay a car hire is recommended and there is a garage and a commercial centre at the entrance to Reserva del Higueron with a large supermarket, bank, restaurant and video store. There are many golf courses within easy reach and the spacious blue flag beaches are just five or ten minutes away by car.

Reserva del Higueron has a Carrefour supermarket at the entrance and is close to Benelmadena Pueblo which has many quality restaurants and tapas bars to suit all tastes as well as newsagents and other shops. Fuengirola has many shopping malls including Dunnes and the fabulous El Corte de Ingles, Torremolinos, Benalmadena Costa with its spectacular award winning marina are only a few miles away. The little seaside area of Los Boliches has a superb weekly fish market which is worth a visit. There are many golf courses in the close vicinity and local attractions include the Tivoli amusement park, Selwo Park, go-karting, and of course the many blue flag beaches. Using the A7 (formerly EN340) it is possible to take day trips to historical cities such as Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Ronda and also Gibraltar is just a 1.5 hours drive. Puerto Banus and Estapona are 45mins away. In the winter months the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains are approximately 2.5 hours from the apartment.

  • When opened the ensuite bathroom window affords a great view up the valley to Mijas and is completely private! The good sized shower room is immediately adjacent to the twin bedroom.

The mosquito screens allow air circulation during the hotter months without the use of air conditioning although please only use the aircon when the windows and patio door are completely closed!

Notes:

The apartment is adjacent to the Reserva del Higueron Country Club which offers a wide range of facilities and services payable to them directly including Spa and, fitness room and sauna. The garden area has two outdoor pools which are for the exclusive use of our guests and other residents of the apartments. There are lifeguards on duty during July/August. The apartment has a large balcony/terrace with a table and four chairs making it ideal for dining as it is well sheltered from the full heat of the sun and has panoramic views towards the sparkling Mediterranean sea and the mountains. There are 'glass curtains' fitted which make it perfect for use during the cooler evenings. It is possible to walk down to Carvajal station (15 minutes) for trains to Fuengirola or Malaga and just a few metres further on to the beach with the esplanade which runs all the way to Feungirola. There are many excellent fish restaurants, cafes and bars along the seafront all of which are reasonably priced.

Ambiance

The overall feeling within Reserva del Higueron is that of understated quality and once you leave exit 217 the pace of life reduces quite dramatically! The elevated position affords beautiful views towards the sea with Feungirola harbour in the distance. It is possible to walk down to the beachfront and when the overall development is completed there will be a much easier access to Carvajal rail station and the extensive esplanade which goes all the way to Feungirola. There are many small eating places on the front and the locally caught fish is very good and not expensive.

Travel

Although a car is by far the best and easiest means of travel there is a regular bus service passing by the commercial centre near the entrance. The nearby rail network is excellent with clean, reasonably priced and efficient trains operating regularly along the coast from Feungirola to Malaga (including airport). Change at Malaga for the main line service which allows travel to many other inland destinations.

Living

The apartment is very welcoming and there is a peaceful feeling due to the open vista from the lounge. Even if it is very hot and sunny the striking building architecture ensures that there is ample shade to still enjoy the warmth without having to be indoors. It is particularly nice eating outside on the terrace/balcony as the panoramic view is pleasant no matter which way you are looking.
