Region:
The Costa del Sol has been a popular holiday region for many years. Its boasts some 320 days of sunshine per annum! The world renowned resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus are nearby with their famous nightlife and impressive boats. Extensive sea sports are available locally e.g. at Cabopino (1 mile) with water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, etc. Popualer local destinations include Mijas and Rhonda which are traditional Spanish towns in the mountains.
Dona Lola:
Dona Lola is a select resort wonderfully situated next to the beach. The complex has all the facilities you may need, there are bars and restaurants to suit all ages and tastes within easy walking distance. There is an extensive range of leisure activities on site and the swimming pool is simply spectacular with its substantial range of sun-bathing terraces. The indoor complex is excellent with its wide range of equipment. There also two full size snooker tables and two floodlit tennis courts (small extra charge). The landscaped gardens are beautiful and contain quiet areas for sun-bathing or just relaxing.
The Apartment:
The apartment is on the top floor (3rd floor) of 'Elizabeth II' and is situated in the quietest area of the complex. Whilst the apartment is on the third floor, access is gained at first floor level thus only two flights of stairs to climb! The south-facing balcony is so close to the sea you could almost throw a stone in it! There is a table and chairs on the balcony ideal for eating out or just watching the boats go by.
Golf:
The region is also known as the Costa del Golf. There are many excellent courses nearby including the well known Mijas (2) and La Cala (2), and many other all within 10/15 minutes drive. The home of the Spanish Open in 2000 was Parador del Golf in Malaga - 30 minutes drive. Towards Gibraltar, about 1 hours drive, are the renowned courses of Valderrama and San Roque, both famous courses from the European Tour. Due to the climate golf is popular all year with the low season being only June, July and August!
