Large apartment in superb location, 5 minutes walking distance from a typical Spanish village. Close to beach, all amenities within a few minutes walking distance. Ground floor but elevated over gardens. Balcony. Kitchen with oven, gas and electric hob, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, all small appliances, crockery, cutlery and utensils, washing machine, iron and ironing board. Bathroom with shower and bath, bidet, basin and toilet. New shower room. Large lounge, well equipped with settee, chairs, dining table and chairs, sideboard, satellite TV and a large selection of novels. A gas fire is available for chilly evenings. The apartment overlooks the sea. Beautiful enclosed gardens, swimming pool. 25 minutes from Malaga airport. 10 minutes from Fuengerola. 20 minutes from Marbella. Local market Wednesdays and Saturdays. Many restaurants. Banks and shops. Many top class golf courses nearby with excellent club facilities. Frequent buses to all localities including Gibralter

Recently a very safe children's playground has been added to the village facilities. La Cala is an ideal base for the port of Malaga, Marbella, Porto Banus, Gibralter, Ronda, Tangier.

La Cala: The apartment is 30 kilometres from Malaga airport. A train from the airport can be taken to Fuengerola for about 1.5 euros. The apartment is then a short bus or taxi ride from the train station.

La Cala- fishing village.: La Cala is loved and affection ally known by the local residents. The long beaches are well cared for, clean, safe and the sand is soft and golden. La Cala is traditionally a fishing village that has a watch tower and was used in the 16th century to warn boats of the rocky cliffs. Part of the tower is now used as a tourist information centre and the view from the top has to be seen to be believed. There is a street market every Wednesday and Saturday and the promenade during the sultry summer nights is filled with flamenco dance and music.

Sports / Recreation / Golf / Horseriding: There is an abundance of good quality sports and recreation facilities both in and around La Cala de Mijas. Although the whole of the Costa Del Sol is famous for its quality golf courses, special mention should be given to the competition standard golf courses at and near La Cala. These courses are open to non members, tuition is availale and equipment can be hired. Excellent catering facilities can also be found at most club houses. Horse riding can be enjoyed in the hills behind La Cala. If you enjoy horses purely as a spectator the Hippodrome (race track) may well be for you. The Hippodromo del Costa Del Sol is just on the outskirts of La Cala and makes a great family night out.

Golf: There is a superb 18 hole golf course (El Chapperal) at the end of the garden. The club house has excellent catering facilities.

Had a wonderful time at this apartment with my 3 kids (15, 13 and 10). The position was great and the apartment was spacious and very comfortable. Not far from beach or local bars/restaurants, the restaurant on the corner of the apartment complex was lovely. Bit of a steep hill from the local supermarket to the apartment so probably not a good idea if you have difficulty walking or have very young children. Didn't both with a car, the train runs from the airport and then a short taxi ride.
