There are no roads to cross to access the beach and sea. The old town of Nerja is just a 10 minute drive along the picturesque coast road. Accommodation: living room with bed settee and pull out child's bed; patio doors to spacious terrace with table; chairs and sun umbrella. TV -Free to View English Channels, video player, videos, radio/tape system; 1 twin bedroom with built in wardrobe; bathroom with large walk in shower; fully fitted kitchen with oven, electric hob, microwave, kettle, fridge freezer, toaster and washing machine; heater & fan. The Malaga bus stops right at the top of the road. The route includes; Nerja, Frigliana and other towns. Torrox Costa has a nice mile long promenade with many restaurants and is ideal for your summer holiday rental. There are three 18 hole golf courses within a short drive of the apartment.

Places of Interest

The Alhambra Palace, Granada: This magnificent Moorish Palace dates back to 1333. The architecture and gardens are breathtaking. Water features play a large part in the garden architecture and are fed by the irrigation system from the Sierra Nevada mountains. Tiled and carved arches dominate this building. Granada is just 1 hour 45 minutes by car or alternatively you can book a coach excursion. Frigliana: The typical whitewashed Moorish Village of Frigliana lies perched on lofty crafts just 10 minutes from Torrox. Donkeys carry their loads through the narrow upward winding streets which are too narrow to take vehicles. Nerja Caves: The fantastic stalagmites in the Nerja Caves were formed over millions of years ago. An orchestra and opera perform during the Festival in August. Sayalonga: There is a very interesting round cemetery at Sayalonga, dating back to Roman times. They have recently opened a visitors centre here, due to the number of people visiting the area.

Walking/Diving

You can book diving trips with Club Nautique de Nerja who also arrange for Mountain Bike Hire, Horse Riding. Guided Walks and Jeep Safaries. Southern Andalucia provides many opportunities for serious and casual walkers in the national parks and nature reserves in the area. For example try walking from Frigliana to Nerja down the river bed; a distance of about 6 km. Take the bus up to Frigliana and look for the sign for the 'Ruta Touristica' at the back of the Plaza de Ingenio. Guided walks around the attractive white town of Frigliana will help you understand the history of the area. The walks start from the square, where the guides will take your bookings. Local markets: Monday Torrox Costa. Tuesday Nerja. Wednesday Algarrobo Costa and Rincon De Victoria. Thursday Torre Del Mar and Frigliana. Friday Almunecar and La Herradura. Markets usually start by 9.30am and finish at 1.00pm. A Car Boot Sale is held every Sunday up on the Capistrano Complex.

Golf Courses

There are three 18 hole golf courses within 35 minutes drive of the apartment. Baviera Golf (Tele: 95 2555015) is situated at La Caleta on the coast just 10 minutes away by car. There are splendid views of the sea and mountains from the greens. It is a very picturesque course, with fountains, waterfalls, fish, ducks and ponds. The back nine are particularly attractive with some interesting par 5's and an abundance of water protecting the greens. The bar/restaurant area serves Tapas. There is also a new practice driving range on the Complex. Alternatively Anoreta Golf Course is approximately 30 minutes drive away or Los Moriscos, right on the beach at Salobrena, is just 35 minutes away by car. This course abounds with water features . There is a very pleasant bar area overlooking the Mediterranean. It costs approximately 45 euros to play 18 holes on these courses. This is half the price of courses West of Malaga.
