Villa in Borrajo, nr Alhaurin El Grande
Review Submitted: July 23, 2008

Had no water pressure from shower during first 3 days (in temperatures of 130f was no joke!). Once resolved holiday improved, but villa much too far from Alhaurin (certainly not the 5 mins as owner advises) and the road/track to main road from villa was dangerous (nearly wrecked the brand new hire car when first arriving) and with no street lights, so didn't risk using at night. Found Alhaurin very poor for restaurants and only found one decent tapas bar (El Tomeo). Air conditioning in lounge only worked as a cool air blower and if two couples were sharing the property, one bedroom leads straight into the other, so would need to be on very friendly terms. However, location fantastic for birdwatching and the pool was definitely a must (especially during first 3 days!). Sorry, but wouldn't return to this property, it's back to the coast for us and civilisation!

Owner's Response: The lack of water pressure was due to the town council turning the pressure down - this was fixed as soon as they were notified and was a one-off.
The villa is no more than 5mins drive from Alhaurin El Grande - it is considerably longer to walk!
The access road is newly surfaced council adopted road and the villa is in the country side (Finca - in Spanish) so yes there are no street lights.
Air conditioning is 2 units one in lounge and one in master bedroom - both are modern Hitachi units which are more than adequate (if the doors/windows are closed!!!).
The master bedroom has a separate outside door leading onto the terrace in case privacy is needed.
