Casita Buenavista is new for 2007 ideally situated for those wishing to be away from the crowds on the Costa del Sol, and yet only 20 min away from the beach resorts of TORREMOLINOS, BENALMADENA, FUENGIROLA. We are only 10 min drive from 2 major golf resorts, Alhaurin Golf which was designed by Seve Ballesteros and Lauro Golf – only 25min drive from the rich and famous marina resort of Puerta Banus and Marbella with its many designer shops, – 20 min from the historic city of Malaga. We are also 1hr drive from Gibraltar. The property has Satellite TV with UK channels and has heat and combined air conditioning along with a cozy log burning stove. It has breathtaking views from our roof sun terrace and overlooks the peaceful countryside with its natural beauty and is perfect for artists, birdwatchers or just anyone who loves the countryside and yet still conveniently situated close to the vibrant town of Alhaurin el Grande.

The white washed village of Alhaurin el Grande is a very typical Spanish village with plenty of banks, shops, fine restaurants and a thriving local Thursday market, which is well worth a visit. It has many fine Spanish bars and restaurants, but also English and Irish bars, and Chinese Restaurant. It has some of the finest cuisine in the region. You can dine out on superb Spanish seafood, or Italian pizzerias, or simple English fish and chips. We are only 25 min from Malaga Airport, 25 min from the chic resort of Marbella and the rich and famous resort of Puerta Banus- Coastal resorts of Torremolinos and Fuengirols also only 25 mins. Visit the historic town of Malaga which is steeped with history. The amusement park of Tivoli World and Aqua Parks of Mijas and Nerja Caves are also a short drive away. Visit the beautiful 'El Chorro' lakes and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Payment: A deposit of 150€ is required which is non refundable to secure booking, the balance to be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival. Payment made by Direct Bank Transfer.
    Prices are based on 2 adults and 2 small children
    Refundable damage deposit of 100€ is payable on arrival.
    Guests are kindly asked to vacate the property before 10.30 a.m. on departure day. Guests are also asked to kindly leave the cottage in the same clean condition as when they arrive.
    If you do not wish to clean the cottage prior to your departure we will arrange for cleaning at an extra charge of 25€.
    All prices are weekly.
    Incoming guests cannot take occupation of the cottage until after 2.30p.m. on changeover days.

Casita Buenavista is situated in the grounds of a private villa, and guests have the use of the 2acres of olive groves and the 12 x 4 Swimming Pool which will sometimes be shared with the semi-retired owners. Although the owner will try to give exclusivity for the use of the pool for their guests. *****NEW FOR 2008 is ***** Private Plunge Pool **** designed in andalucian style and **SOLELY ** for the use of the cottage guests, seats 4 - 6, along with private sun-bathing area. Sit and relax by the pool and overlook the magnificent countryside, while eagles soar above and rabbits run free. The wonderful village of MIJAS is only a short drive away with its donkey taxis and many souvenir shops. The ancient town of RHONDA is 1hr drive away with its spectacular ancient gorge. GRANADA is 1hr drive away and SEVILLA 3hrs drive. The owner has 2 small pet dogs, although they are not allowed on the grounds of the Cottage. There is NO SMOKING inside the cottage. What a wonderful place, Sue and Jeff are really nice people with total respect for your privacy but on hand if needed!!! A real gem of a cottage, nicely decorated and very, very clean. The plunge pool is brilliant for relaxing in with a glass of wine. The cottage is set in a lovely quiet area with lovely views across the countryside. Its near a small town with some lovely (reasonable) restaurants, we ate at one recommended by Sue and Jeff the food was excellent...
The welcome pack is a really good idea especially if like us, we arrived very late (after midnight).
They have 2 lovely dogs, which will only come to visit you if you encourage them, which I did, they have very gentle natures and I am a 'doggy' person and was missing my own dog...Hi Zorbe and Lady I really missed you when we left, sorry if you put on a few extra pounds.....
We really hope to return in the very near future.....
A fantastic week enjoyed in complete peace and quiet, a real treat for myself and my husband.
Highly recommended..............

A wonderful place, peaceful and accessable.
Sue and Jeff are excellent hosts with total respect for your privacy but on hand if needed.
A comfortable cottage, nicely decorated and very clean. The plunge pool is ideal for relaxing in with a glass of wine.
The area is lovely, quiet with calming views across the countryside.
It is located close to the small town Alhaurin el Grande, with reasonable restaurants and shops, all you need if you wish to be away from the crowds.
Great base to access all the centres of holiday excess and the country side as you wish.
They have 2 lovely dogs, which will only come to visit you if you encourage them!
A fantastic week enjoyed in complete peace and quiet, a great break for myself and my daughters.
Most definately highly recommended....

Perfect Get-Away

I was looking for the perfect get away to relax enjoy the scenery and weather whilst studying for an big exam. I ended up at Casita Buenavista and couldn't have made a better choice. Not only did I have the get away I was looking for, I ended up in a beautiful little cottage with the most heavanely plunge pool where I could relax after a hard days work and watch the sun go down over the mountains. I couldn't want for anything more my hosts Sue and Jeff were perfect, friendly helpful, willing to do everything to make your stay pefect, including leaving me to my books in peace and quiet, but for ever welcoming if I wanted to escape the books for a while and chat over a cuppa. Although my stay was a bit of a retreat I'm sure this cottage would be just as much a perfect base for exploring the area, the nearby beaches of the Costa del Sol etc. With everything you could possibly need in this beautifully appointed holiday home, away from the crowds and noise of the resorts, it would be a great place to come back to after a day exploring the area.

Great holiday

I spent a very enjoyable month on my own last year in the cottage, hosting two guests for a few days. The owners, Jeff and Sue, are lovely people and make you feel very welcome.
The views from the cottage are superb and the town is only a few minutes drive away. It is an ideal place to unwind and the bird life is wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone who does not like discos, lager louts and noisy pubs. Nearby restaurants provide lunches at ridiculously cheap prices. Even though I have relations living nearby on the other side of the the valley I intend to return!!
