Casa Los Olivos is a spacious and very comfortable country house full of rustic charm in the Guadalhorce Valley close to sport climbing at El Chorro and water sports at the Ardales Lakes. Only 3 km from Álora, 40 minutes from Málaga airport and the Mediterranean Sea it offers an ideal holiday location of extraordinary diversity and rural Spanish charm.

The house has traditional Spanish rustic features and is equipped to the highest standard of modern convenience making it suitable for a family or two couples and is built to wheelchair standards.

The large living and dining area has a vaulted beamed roof, terracotta floor, wood stove, TV (sat/free to air (English and German), DVD and CD player. Books and DVDs are available and Wi Fi internet access. The kitchen is open plan and fully equipped. The pool has a gated enclosure for child safety, pool toys provided, secluded garden to rear, lots of garden furniture. There is a table tennis table - great fun for all

Villa with pool near El Chorro and Álora. El Chorro is famous for world class rock climbing, and Álora is an historic white hill town that has retained its charm with narrow streets, small shops and busy market days every Monday. There are restaurants, tapas and coffee bars, and wonderful views of the mountains surrounding the most beautiful part of the Guadalhorce Valley green all year round with orange and lemon trees. It also enjoys an excellent rail link to Malaga, Cordoba, Sevilla etc. and good motorway links to inland towns of Antequerra, Ronda, and Granada. The historic old town of Málaga is worth a day trip by train, the beaches along the Costa del Sol and the mountains and climbing at El Chorro are all within easy reach by road. Ideal location for exploring the countryside, towns and cities of Andalucia, and the Ardales Lakes are beautiful and close by. This area offers sport, scenery, lakes, mountains, the sea, great food, amazing transport links and wonderful weather.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Additional accommodation is available in the adjoining house where there is a double room and a twin room, both with en suite facilities. Please enquire for prices. Refund policy :

    Cancellation up to 8 weeks before arrival -no charge: 4-8 weeks, 50% refund: 2-4 week, 25% refund:less than 2 weeks, no refund. Please contact us for details of rates for short breaks of less than one week or for stays of longer than 2 weeks.

    Please note that rental includes all linen, towels, etc. In winter a weeks supply of wood is included - sufficient for a roaring fire every evening. Additional supplies can be purchased at cost.

    Keys will be ready at 4 pm on arrival day, and guests are asked to vacate by 10.30 am at the latest on departure day. If we don't have same day changeover we can be more flexible about arrival and departure times.
  • For parties of 6 people or more :- If Casa Los Olivos is rented in conjunction with accommodation in the farmhouse we offer a bed and breakfast rate for parties of 6 or more at euros 25 per person per night. Or accommodation only at euros 18 per person per night.
  • We are available to provide any assistance to our guests, but ensure they have maximum privacy. We have pets on site (two cats) that are friendly and well behaved. They are curious about guests but tend to prefer sleep to interaction.

  • Both the bathroom and shower room are large and wheelchair friendly. Both are heated in winter and have shaver points. Windows have mosquito netting. The shower room is a wet room and suitable for wheelchair users. We can arrange hire of particular aids if required.

Notes: Casa Los Olivos is ideal for 4 persons, but can sleep 6 with a sofa bed/3rd single bed. A supplement is charged 5th/6th person. With a fabulous wood stove that provides vented heating to bedrooms/bathrooms, this is a house for all year use, in an excellent location for climbers visiting El Chorro, those wanting to tour Andalucia's fantastic cities and the national parks of El Chorro and El Torcal. The house has been built to wheelchair standard and wheelchair users are very welcome. The house is in the grounds of the farmhouse where we can offer additional accommodation (with/without breakfast) for larger groups. Or you can rent both houses, giving accommodation for up to 12 people. The ground floor of the farmhouse is also wheelchair friendly. (rates on application). No b and b in summer. Casa Los Olivos has its own private garden and BBQ area with fabulous views across the valley to the mountains of El Chorro, & large terrace facing the pool area which is gated for child safety

All you need to feel at home: We provide a welcome pack so you have a snack and something to drink on arrival, and for late arrivals we ensure there is something for breakfast. We also provide essential larder items and kitchen basics . We can provide an evening meal on the day you arrive if you wish. There are board games, books, DVDs etc. A range of pool toys is available - and the table tennis table provides hours of fun. The pool has a covered pergola which provides shade all morning through to about 3 pm. The terrace is east facing, and the private garden gets afternoon and evening sun and has lovely views over the valley.

Activities: country sports, water sports, tickets to The Alhambra and the Picasso Museum - we can arrange lots of activities and sports in advance of your stay. Cycling, horse riding, golf, climbing and canyoning are the most popular sports in this area. Walking, bird watching, touring the white towns and exploring the Guadalhorce Valley - there truly is something to suit everyone in this rural location - including easy access to Cordoba, Malaga,Ronda, Granada and the wonderful countryside of Andalucia. The new AVE means Madrid is only 2 1/4 hours away (if booked in advance on the internet) and if you are here for a longer stay we recommend a trip to Tarifa for whale watching, a tour up the coast of the Costa de la Luz - a stop over in the beautiful Vejer de la Frontera, a visit to the amazing Jerez - the bodegas and the Andaluz Equestrian School, and return via Arcos de la Frontera and Ronda. We can organise excellent accommodation at amazing prices in Vejer and Arcos. We can also arrange for spanish cooking classes with lunch nearby or meal deliveries - ideal for the first or last nights of your stay.

Improvements: We are always working on improvements and in June 2010 we undertook extensive external work around the pool and the property - we hope that this will significantly increase our guests enjoyment of the property in both summer and winter. The table tennis table is proving a success - its under cover so great when its sunny or not.

Golf:

There are a number of golf courses in the vicinity but we don't have any 'on the doorstep' Alhaurin Golf is about 30 minutes away and we can provide more information on golf course and prices on request

Table Tennis pensioners

Much better than the advert. Brilliant for 2 couples or families. Spotless and well maintained. Helen and Alan perfect hosts - thanks for all your help. We would definitely recommend the property to friends.
We loved the fact the the local village of Alora was not very touristy and the scenery up the valley at El Chorro amazing.
We didn't take our swimming gear as it was only March but we wished we had. The table tennis table was a real treat. We hadn't played for years but a glass of wine and a tournament before dinner was great.
I do think that having your own transport is probably quite important.
Highlights were walking in El Chorro, El Torcal and the local hills, visiting the Alhambra at Granada, Malaga on the train and Ronda.

JUST PERFECT !!!

A BEAUTIFUL PLACE WITH EVERY THING YOU WILL EVER NEED. WARM POOL, GREAT ACCOMODATION AND STUNNING ALL YEAR WEATHER.A REAL FIND. SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES AND MOBILITY NEEDS.WE STAYED FOR A WEEK, 4 ADULTS AND HAVE ALREADY BOOKED TO RTN. IF YOU WANT A HOLIDAY WITH PEACE AND QUIET BUT PLENTY TO DO IF YOU CHOOSE THIS IS PERFECT.
HELEN AND ALAN ARE GREAT HOSTS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED EVERY DETAIL TO ENSURE A GREAT EXPERIENCE.
ALL YOU NEED IS HAND LUGGAGE.

We had a fantastic time here so much so that we have been twice and will no doubt return again. Everything is perfect and we couldn't have asked for more. Its in a great spot, being convenient for the town and for the hills and all the walks/climbs. Its everything the ad says but better and I especially love the walk in shower. Our hosts made us feel very welcome, it was home from home but with lovely weather.

A perfect spot!

We have stayed at Casa Los Olivos twice. This is an excellent property, much better equiped than the information on your website would suggest. A lovely spot, with most helpful and welcoming owners. We cant wait to come back and would not hesitate to reccomend it to all, it is perfect for couples, families with small children, disabled and anyone who wants comfort in a beautiful setting.
