This lovely old stone cottage tastefully renovated and equipped has enchanted our guests and will delight you. No less the spectacular scenery of this mountainside location, away from it all but with easy access to the beaches, shops, restaurants and bright lights of the coast as well as the historic hilltop village of Casares. Laze beside our glorious swimming pool soaking up the warm Mediterranean sun and the wonderful views or head off to explore Andalucia's fascinating landscapes and towns. The choice is yours.

Casa Bermeja: Casa Bermeja is well situated for privacy in a glorious 12-acre estate that boasts magnificent forests of cork oak, pine and chestnut, hilly meadows, delightful gardens and a lovely swimming pool. The scenery is spectacular with sea views to Gibraltar and Morocco from parts of the estate. Set in a national park this enchanting mountain retreat offers peace and tranquillity in surroundings of breathtaking natural beauty and yet the bustle of coastal towns such as Estepona and Marbella is a short drive away. Casa Bermeja really offers the best of both worlds.

The cottage: Casa Bermeja is a traditional 100-year-old stone cottage that has been lovingly restored retaining many original features such as seasoned chestnut beams and a cosy open fireplace. Designed as a romantic and stylish retreat for couples it boasts a king size double bed and splendid handmade Ronda furniture in the open plan living/sleeping suite. An antique arched door leads to the bathroom attractively decorated with hand painted tiles from Seville, while a second archway leads to a compact and well-equipped kitchen. This cottage has never failed to delight our guests.

The area: There is excellent walking and bird watching country. Wildlife includes deer, wild boar, ibex, and mongoose as well as cats, dogs and donkeys. Mountain bikes are available for guests. The beautiful 'white village' of Casares offers restaurants and shops just a 3km drive away down a mountain track. The legendary towns of Ronda, Granada and Seville can all be reached as a day trip, by scenic train if you wish. Casares is ideally situated as the starting point for exploring the other picturesque 'white villages' of the Serrania de Ronda and its breathtaking landscapes. Beaches and golf courses are a 25-minute drive as are the supermarkets of Sabinillas.
