Traditional cottage in beautiful mountain village, extensively refurbished to provide a peaceful, comfortable base. Ideal for walking, birdwatching, sightseeing, relaxing. Spacious and tastefully furnished with sofa-bed, rocking chair, dining table for 6. Master bedroom (double), 2nd bedroom (twin beds). Open-plan living area (TV, DVD, CD player, woodburner) and well-equipped kitchen/diner - oven, hob, fridge, toaster, etc. Ceiling fans in all main rooms. Extensive outside space, including dining terrace, further sun terrace with Jacuzzi and shower room. Covered laundry area with washing machine, BBQ, parasols, etc. Views from house & terrace are stunning - unspoilt mountains and olives, with rare bird sightings common. Close to bars, restaurants, shops & community pool yet quiet, truly Spanish area. Basic grocery pack on arrival. Unlike many properties in the village, it is possible to park right outside for loading/unloading & further parking is available just a few metres away.

Nearest Train: Benaojan at 1 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 45.0 Kilometres

Wonderful mountain location, on the edge of the lovely Sierra de Grazalema, with pretty white towns and villages to explore and beautiful countryside all around. The rear of the house has unspoilt views of a mountain peak, with an olive grove in the foreground. The spectacular, historic city of Ronda is just 15 minutes away for sightseeing with Moorish architecture, the breathtaking gorge and numerous restaurants, cafes and museums. A nature-lover's paradise, with great walking, climbing and bird-watching. There is a fantastic range of landscapes within 10 minutes drive of the house - with rolling wheat fields, dramatic limestone escarpments, forests of cork-oaks, even rather Tuscan-looking lines of cypresses leading to stone farmhouses. The vibrant cities of Seville, Granada and Cordoba are all within striking distance and Marbella - great shopping, lovely beaches - is only 55km away. All in all, a great base for either rural escape or city sightseeing.

The property name 'casita de suenos' translates to mean the house of dreams which could not be more appropriate. The photographs do not do it justice as it was so well equipped, clean with all the facilities you could wish for. The owner was incredibly helpful with providing all required information and we will definately be returning in the near future.

The village of Montejaque is beautiful rural spain and all locals were friendly and accommodating. The hotel in the main square served excellent food and welcoming owners, especially their dog!

Highly recommend this cottage and part of Spain for a rural retreat whatever the time of year (Dec 08)
