Beautifully restored country house with private pool

A beautifully restored old blacksmith's forge that has been in the same family for generations. The property is reached by a short track a few kilometres from the village of Gaucin and is surrounded by unspoilt countryside where goats, sheep and cattle still graze. The large private pool is set in well-tended natural gardens amid fragrant mandarin trees. The house has been thoughtfully restored using traditional local materials and is decorated with a range of antiques and country artifacts.

The Old Forge is about 10 minutes drive from the village of Gaucin a 'pueblo blanco' or one of the white villages of Andalucia. Set high on a mountain, Gaucin commands spectacular views to the Mediterranean, the Rock of Gibraltar and the Rif Mountains of North Africa. Gaucin has many small shops as well as 3 larger supermarkets and an indoor market selling fresh fish and vegetables. The village has a good selection of tapas bars and restaurants. The countryside around Old Forge is beautiful and is perfect for those who enjoy walking, birdwatching, painting or just relaxing around the pool.
