This Luxury 3 Bedroom Apartment in a quiet location is within easy walking distance from the hustle and bustle of the Puerto de la Duquesa Marina and Beach. Situated 50 minutes from Malaga Airport, or 25 minutes from Gibraltar Airport, on the Duquesa Golf Course. The complex has underground parking with direct access to the apartment via a lift. The accommodation is furnished to a high standard and offers air-conditioning, central heating and marble floors throughout, two bathrooms (one en-suite), modern kitchen including oven & hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster & kettle. The living room comprises of two sofas, Radio, CD, DVD & TV which receives satellite channels, patio doors lead onto a large balcony. The apartment is in a quiet location a short walk from lively Puerto de la Duquesa which is a well kept secret along this coastline and is known as the new 'Golden Mile' on the Costa Del Sol. The Marina boasts many restaurants catering for all tastes, beaches can be found either side of the marina where one can enjoy beach cafes for a snack or lunch overlooking the sea. A lovely walk along a promenade joins Duquesa Port with the small village of Sabinillas. Fifteen minutes by car will take you to the town of Estepona and a further ten minutes will take you to Marbella. Gaucin & Casares famous Andalucian white villages in the hills are also only a short drive away. Golf courses are in abundance along the coast and many are within 15 minutes drive. These include Duquesa, Dona Julio, Valderrama, San Roque, Marbella Golf Resort, Marbella Golf & Country, Sotogrande, Alcaidesa, Estepona and La Canada.

Apartment Location: The location of the apartment was selected very carefully, offering an ideal balance of lively bars and restaurants a short walk away while the apartment resides in a peaceful environment without noise from the main coastal road and Marina. The nearest bar is about 5 minutes walk and the Marina 10 minutes walk. The nearest beach spans both sides of the marina on one side past the village of Sabinillas (20 min walk via the promenade) and on the other past the fishing hamlet of Castillo Duquesa. Another popular beach is in the nearest town Estepona a 15-minute drive away. The Marina has all the essential shops including a small supermarket, newsagent, Internet cafe, and gift shop. Sabinillas has a wider variety of shops including two larger supermarkets. Estepona has many shops and a large Carrefour supermarket.

Places to Go: As part of your stay you may wish to visit the surrounding area and Duquesa is in an ideal location. Some examples are: Marbella and Puerto Banus are a stones throw away (25 mins). Gibraltar is (20 mins) where you can get duty free goods and see the famous apes on the rock. Tangiers can be accessed by ferry (15 mins). Casares (15 mins) & Gaucin (20 Mins) are beautiful Andalusian white villages in the hills. Ronda (approx 1hr 30 mins) is well worth a visit take the day and make sure you go past Ronda on the A-376 towards Seville about 20 minutes outside Ronda there is the most beautiful turquoise lake. Selwo Park, a nature park based on an African Safari Park which houses over 2000 animals in the semi wild (15mins). Please look in welcome pack in apartment for more details on the above.

Golf: The area between Gibraltar and Malaga is a paradise for golfers as there are nearly fifty courses to choose from including Valderrama (15 mins) venue of championships including Ryder Cup & Volvo Masters. La Canada (15 mins) lovely greens originally built for the villagers who maintain Valderrama. Duquesa Golf Club (2 mins) offers a challenging round with two distinct 9 holes, Alcaidesia (15 mins) stunning views overlooking the Rock, to name but a few. There is even Europe’s first floodlit course, La Dama de Noche for those of you who may wish to play 24 hours a day! It would take many return trips to play the all the superb courses around Duquesa, so come and visit because you’ll wish to return again and again. On first arrival we had a little trouble finding the apartment, this was soon resolved after asking a local who pointed us in the right direction. If staying here I would definitely recommend a hire car as it is up a step hill and I would not want to walk up and down continuously plus it will cost a fortune in taxi fares going anywhere. The apartment itself is very spacious with 3 bedroom suitable for sleeping up to 5. The swimming pools are very quite only one other couple at the pool all day. The surrounding area is kept clean and tidy. All in all a great place to stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: I agree that a car is a good idea. Taxi's going any distance will be costly.

I have amended the directions to include more landmarks which hopefully will make it easier for anyone arriving as it's very difficult without road names! Thankfully locals can help point you in the right direction.

As for the hill yep it is a bit steep at the start but levels off fairly quickly and personally I enjoy a stroll down to the port especially at night when I want to have a drink or two and on the very odd occasion I don't stroll back I treat myself to a short taxi ride which isn't that costly.

It's great to know that people enjoy my apartment and the surrounding area.

The description was fairly good but the views were minimal because of other large properties blocking the view. The facilities were very adequate and the property was clean and tidy on arrival. The owner was easy to deal with and friendly making the whole booking experience a real pleasure.
The walk down to the village is great, coming back up the hill is not so great and a car is recommended unless you are a keen up hill walker.
We didnt have any young children.
Owner's Response: I have checked my description as I would not wish to mislead anyone with regard to the views, one can see the sea in the distance from the balcony across the roof tops, the location is very quiet and peaceful. I agree the hill is a bit steep at the beginning, I am not a hill walker but I quite enjoy the walk! I would also recommend a car.

A fabulous week in Duquesa

Me and 5 of my friends fancied a week in the sunshine and after many hours of searching the internet for the perfect destination for our girls holiday we found this appartment o the Costa del Sol! It is perfectly located a mere 100 metres from the pool and a short walk to the town which boasts bars, restaurants and shops! The appartment had everything we needed from a fully equipped kitchen th 2 bathrooms which were essential for 6 females! We had a truly fabulous week and I would highly reccommnend this accommodation!
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car

We have just returned from your apartment and had a wonderful time. The property was spotless and well maintained with all the mod con's - fab when you had a family of 5. I would certainly recommend your apartment to anyone that wishes to visit Duquesa. The children had a great time at the beach in Sabinillas (personally better than Duquesa which is on the shingly side). The pools were fantastic too. Duquesa restaurants were alittle on the pricy side but found a great fish restaurant in Castillo where you can order half portions. Once again thank you very much. Tracey
