If you are looking for the perfect getaway in the sunshine, then look no further. My spacious apartment in Southern Spain is in a fantastic location directly overlooking Duquesa Marina on the Costa del Sol. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, is fully air conditioned/heated, and has marble floors throughout. The sitting room (with new Sony Bravia TV), leads onto the balcony - which is not only perfect for ‘people watching’ but also boasts of panoramic views of the mountains, sea, and along the coast. There is a fully fitted kitchen, with all mod cons, and laundry room. There are two community pools and the lower pool opens directly onto the beach. There is 24 hour security and underground parking. There is good golf (and various other sports), good boating (even, possibly on my boat), some very beautiful countryside, and of course there is the Spanish sunshine! Puerto de la Duquesa, on the Costa del Sol, offers the perfect setting in which to relax and unwind, with an excellent choice of restaurants offering international and local cuisine, bars, cafes and shops, including a supermarket. The beaches are exceptionally clean with good local beach bars. There is a choice of 8 championship golf courses within fifteen minutes drive, and you are also within easy reach of Puerto Banus, Estepona, Sotogrande and Gibraltar. The location is ideal for both family & sporting holidays.

Notes: In the winter, the dining table and chairs are indoors. In the summer, they are out on the balcony, when, if it becomes too chilly, trays and knees are available! Wireless Internet access is available from a local supplier at 10 euros a week.

Television: I have just installed a new Sony Bravia television which is quite superb. It receives Spanish terrestrial and digital services, Sky 'free to air' programmes, plays DVD's and CD's, and you can even play music from your mp3 or phone.

Boating: I can arrange boat trips to see the dolphins, or to any of the nearby ports (say for lunch), or to see the seaward side of Gibraltar, etc.. This can either be on my boat (but I would have to ask for a contribution to overheads) or with one of the commercial operations in the port.

Key Issue: This apartment is my home. When you are staying in it, I will be staying on my boat or with my girlfriend not far away. There are advantages and disadvantages to this: I am readily accessible for advice, keys, problems, etc. and can introduce you to the facilities in Duquesa. I will be visible to you, and, although very unlikely, I may want to come in from time to time for say clothes or unanticipated needs. You will be staying in a 'home' equipped for living, as opposed to a rental apartment with the bare necessities. I am happy for you to use the provisions, but would just ask you to leave me an appropriate contribution, or replace.

Golf: I can arrange golf for you on any of the local courses, and at very competitive rates. Please email me to discuss.

Apartment over Duquesa Marina

This location is perfect with a large balcony overlooking the Marina..Minutes away from bars and restaurants in the Port. The more tradiional town of Sabinillas is a 15 minute walk along the beach and prom. The bus service is very good (and cheap) and although we had a car it was nice to use the bus to get around,especially if you intend to visit Gibraltar.

The apartment is beautiful and comfortable with all mod-cons and easy parking.We sunbathed around the two swimming pools (it was a bit to cold to take the plunge in March) and also around the beach restaurant which is only 5mins away from the apartments.The owner is also in the area if you needed to make contact during your stay.

Highly recommended.

Sunrise over Puerto de la Duquesa Marina

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at John’s apartment. It was exactly as described and is in a perfect location overlooking the Marina. Everything that you need is within a 2- 3 minute walk including beaches, bars, restaurants and shops. Sabinillas is only a 15 minute stroll along the seafront and if you are more adventurous, Gibraltar is only 30 minutes away by car. I will have no hesitation in recommending John’s apartment to our friends and family and hope to stay there again, in the very near future.

This apartment is everything John says about it on the website. It was so nice to be living in what is someone's home - not just a bare "holiday rental" as provided by so many of the tour operators. Having the internal garage facilty was a bonus. I have no hesitation in making a recommendation for people to come to this flat. The view from the balcony is wonderful!
John met us when we arrived and directed us into the garage, and he was also there when we left - and that was at 7 am! Good service from a caring owner.

This apartment is very well equiped and comfortable - clean and tidy - plenty of fresh laundered bedlinen and soft towels. It is superbly situated overlooking the Marina and central to the many bars and varied restuarants of Duquesa. We would have no hesitation recommending it and hope to return .

The apartment was in a very good location overlooking the marina.John met us when we arrived and explained everything to us. The apartment was like ' home from home' with all the facilities you need for an enjoyable stay.
We would definitely recommend this property to our friends.
