Rural village location with amazing views of the hillsides and Mediterranean Sea (7 km away), from our roof terrace. Secluded garden and private patios with an extra outside dining room, ceiling fans and plunge pool for the hot summer months. 1 double bedroom, 1 twin room and 1 with 2 full size bunk beds. 2 shower rooms. Spacious lounge/diner, Sat. TV, DVD, and CD player. Well equipped kitchen. Outside barbeque. 35min from Malaga airport, 15min coast, 2 hours from Granada, Cordoba and a little more to Seville. 5 buses per day from village. Two golf courses 10 and 25min by car. Motorway 15min. Great area for exploring, wonderful walking and biking country. This is one of the best of the traditional white villages on the 'raisin route', quiet and picturesque. Population approximately 800. Local bars/restaurants 1 minute, bodega for the famed local wine 1 minute, local supermarket and baker 2 minutes. Variety of major restaurants 15min away, but the local bars serve excellent food.

Moclinejo is a rural white village one thousand metres up in the Piedras Blancas Hills, five miles back from the glistening Mediterranean Sea. It is on the 'Raisin route' overlooking the valley of Benalgalbon. There are footpaths leading down the valley, horses goats and overladen mules constitute normal traffic through Moclinejo, one of Spain's famed and historic little white Andalucian hill villages. It is an agricultural community whose principle products are raisins and the distinctively sweet and delicious 'Malaga Wine' - made from the Muscatel grape. The coast and 'civilisation' are only 10 minutes away at the charming coastal town of Rincon de la Victoria with its well kept beaches and selection of fine dining restaurants and beach side cafes. There are a choice of supermarkets and a weekly street market in both Rincon de la Victoria and Torre Del Mar, which is the next town along the coast. There is easy access to a choice of golf course, the nearest, ten minutes away.

Notes: One of the twin rooms has full size bunk beds. There is an outside dining room to seat 6 people in addition to inside dining area, there is a patio table with four chairs on the roof terrace and a table and four chairs outside on the breakfast terrace. Our last visitors : 'We were very impressed with the house and village and had a lovely break - we would have loved to be able to stay a lot longer' Cathy Martin. Golf, swimming, walking and skiing.: Whilst our house is situated in a small hill village it is only ten minute drive away from the nearest Golf Course (Anoreta - a beautiful 18 hole parkland course) and a further fifteen minutes along the coast from the next. Golfers can reach many courses from this base with no more than an hour's drive. For Enthusiastic swimmers ... There is a new village swimming pool with all facilities open in the summer season 2010 (usually from mid June - September) this large municipal pool with facilities is just a five minute walk from our house. The sea and miles of sandy beaches iare just fifteen minutes drive down the hill and our refreshing plunge pool is close at hand in the garden. For enthusiastic walkers ... The hills around the village are covered in traffic free goat trails and bridle paths, stunning views of mountains and sea, your choice of route does not have to be hilly.

Home and Village entertainment: We have in our house Satellite LCD television - 108 English Speaking Channels available. CD/DVD player and stock of discs. Within 50 yards, in the main square, there is a fine and friendly bar (Reyes) and restaurant where you will be well and economically fed and watered. On the edge, at the entrance to the village there is a splendid hotel (Vista del Mar) under new management that will provide good quality food and wine in smart surroundings. This is in a beautiful location overlooking the Mediterranean - it commands similar views to those we enjoy from our sun terrace. They have great barbecue evenings in the summer months and live entertainment mostly at weekends.

Skiing: The season at Sierra Nevada for winter sports enthusiasts opens in November and closes at the beginning of May. We have been skiing in less than two hours from Moclinejo. The Sierra Nevada ski resorts are currently one hour and forty minutes driving time from Moclinejo. A coastal motorway is being extended month by month and thus reducing the driving time as new completed sections are opened.

From the minute we walked through the door we knew we were going to have a relaxing holiday where we could really unwind and fall into step with life in this beautiful Spanish village. From the roof terrace it was great to be completely secluded but with a 360 degree view of authentic Spain - mules, goats, sea, hills and mountains in the distance. It was great to be so close to the airport and yet in a village where everyone was only speaking Spanish and living a Spanish way of life. People were so friendly that the language barrier didn't matter at all'.

This was an excellent place to escape from everything. Great accommodation offering total privacy and seclusion, but still in the centre of a Spanish "white village". There is public transport available but a small car would be deemed essential if planning on doing any meaningful or regular sightseeing. An understanding of basic Spanish would also be helpful as very little English is spoken. We found only one bar/restaurant in the village but there are two or three shops supplying all necessities.

The house was very clean and spacious with all mod cons and an excellent service from the local overseer/agent.

For us, who wanted peace, privacy and seclusion, it was brilliant. For others, in search of a more lively neighbourhood or night life, look elsewhere.
