In this superb location you can enjoy the slow pace of life, the old village squares that come to life regularly with colourful fiestas, and the fantastic scenery of the mountains and sea views around the villa.
The beach - Torre del Mar :
Torre del Mar is one of the main touristic resorts of the Costa del Sol. Located in the eastern part of the Coast, the town is the beach resort of Vélez-Málaga, capital of the Axarquia region. The town is well known for its four kilometres of wide sandy beaches flanked by a long beachfront promenade with pretty views along the coast and of the hills and mountains behind dotted with white houses and villages. Two kilometres to the east there is a fishing port & marina at La Caleta de Velez. This area has not yet been developed as a tourist attraction but remains very much a working port. There is just one bar/restaurant that overlooks the marina itself although there is a choice of several to the right of the port. Torre del Mar has a lot of atmosphere & local flavour with numerous shops, restaurants (including some very good fish & seafood restaurants) & bars. A 500 metre seafront stretch, called El Copo, is a continual line of bars & restaurants.
Horse riding :
Los Caballos del Mosquin has all the attractions of this Nature Park in its backyard. For example the summit La Maroma can be reached by a special 2 day trek starting from our stables. The hills and deep valleys around it are laced with tracks ideal for both short and long rides through some of the most glorious nature that southern Spain has to offer. Superb panoramas of land and see – on clear days you can see the North African coastline with the Rif Mountains – combined with rugged mountain backdrops, abundant vegetation (olive and almond grows at lower altitudes, forests of pine and native oaks interlaced with wild rosemary and lemon thyme higher up) & plenty of running water in rivers, streams & old irrigation channels.
Golf:
The nearest golf course is only 30 minutes drive away at Baviera Golf, Caleta where 18 holes would cost you no more than £30. The Baviera Golf course is situated between the mountains of the Sierra Tejeda and the ocean at Caleta de Velez. You can see the peak of Mount Maroma in the background, often covered in snow during the colder of the winter months, and as you turn you can see the beautiful sea and beaches of Caleta.
Other Activities:
Mountain biking, Quads and safaris. Many lovely restaurants and tapas bars
