This delightful villa, which has its own private swimming pool, is the perfect spot for a family holiday or perfect for those who seek a holiday off the beaten track. Although the villa is in the heart of the beautiful mountains of Axarquia, it is only a thirty minute drive to the beaches of the Mediterranean.The extensive terrace area is partly shaded by a vine-covered pergola and flowering trees, the rest is open for sunbathing. The garden is full of flowers and fruit trees, including yuccas, bougainvilleas, hibiscus, oranges, lemons, figs and pomegranates. Inside, the large (40sq m) sitting/dining room is furnished with antiques and has an open fireplace and steps up to a library of hundreds of books. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and roof-terrace.

Located on the edge of the tiny village of Daimalos in the hills above Velez Malaga, this house looks out from its roof-terrace across a sheltered valley to a hill crowned with the ruins of a Moorish castle. It is remote but convenient: the amenities of the coast, including several supermarkets, are readily accessible and for basic provisions one only has to go to the garden gate to reach the village shop, and beyond it the local wine bodega. Nearby are several attractive hill-villages.

  • The rates quoted are for 2/4 people. A deposit of £100 per week is required to confirm booking. Guests can send a shopping list so that the kitchen is stocked as they wish when they arrive.
    Saturday changeover days are preferred at peak times but we do accept that flights can be cheaper midweek and are willing to be flexible where possible.
  • NB prices have been reduced by 10% for May and June!

Notes: Nearby Walking - Stunning scenery and good quaity tracks from the doorstep. Competa is a local tourist spot with a beautiful square where one can sit and enjoy a glass of wine. It has many restaurants, cafes and craft shops. The Costa Coast: The coast is only 10 miles away and the seaside town of Nerja, with its lovely beaches and spectacular caves, is only a 40 min drive. Places to visit/activities: The magnificent Alhambra Palace at Granada is only a day trip and Malaga is well worth a visit. Golfers can play the new Baveira Course only 12 miles away and at Velez Malaga there is an Aqua Park for the children. The English care takers live close by and are happy to help with advice on restaurants, places to visit or simply questions about the house. This is a lovely house to enjoy spring and autumn for those who don't enjoy too much sun!

A really fabulous holiday

The house, garden and pool are truly superb. We had a fabulous 2 weeks here in July last year and hope to come again this year. The care takers were extremely helpful giving advice on where to visit and where to eat. Beautiful views and very peaceful
