El Rincon is a spacious, comfortable holiday house with lots of light and very good views. Although recently built, it has the distinctive, traditional character of Southern Spain, with terracotta floors and arched niches. From the large, southwest facing terrace you have lovely views over the village and the mountains beyond. The indoor plunge pool is ideal for cooling down on hot summer days. The central heating makes El Rincon very suitable for winter lets. On the ground floor you will find the kitchen and dining area and the swimming pool. Two bedrooms with en-suites on the first floor and the spacious living room with a lovely terrace on the second floor. Wifi internet access installed. Gaucin is one of the most attractive white villages of the beautiful, unspoilt Serrania de Ronda; it is situated between the mountains and the coast, with sensational views of both. Local area : Gaucín is a beautiful, white-washed mountain village, part of the Serranía de Ronda. It is spectacularly situated on a ridge, 629 meters above sea level and has breath- taking views over the Genal valley to Gibraltar, the Mediterranean and Morocco. Gaucín is not only beautiful, but also very centrally situated. Nature lovers will find themselves surrounded by nature reserves like the Sierra de Grazalema, Los Alconorcales and the Sierra de las Nieves, wonderful walking area with a lot of wildlife. Are you interested in history and culture? The ancient monuments of Granada, Sevilla, Córdoba, Cádiz and Ronda can be visited in a day trip. And last but not least the Mediterranean, with its lively yachting marinas and its golf courses. Or the beautiful, unspoilt beaches of the Atlantic Costa de la Luz. You will find airports in Gibraltar (1 hour), Málaga (1 ½), Jerez de la Frontera (2) and Sevilla (2 ½).

El Rincon: On the ground floor of the house, you will find the entrance hall, the dining/sitting room with fireplace and the kitchen (hob, oven, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher). The room with the plunge pool (1.70 x 2.65 meters, 1.30 deep) gives access to a small patio. The 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin are situated on the first floor; both have ensuite bathrooms. The spacious living room is on the second floor with comfortable sofas and TV (BBC satellite) with DVD player. French doors give access to a large open terrace.

My wife and I have spent two holidays at El Rincon, a total of 9 weeks. This is a comfortable and spacious property at the quiet end of the village- although there was some building work going on during September which created more noise then usual.There is a spacious terrace with good views down toward the coast. The house is comfortably furnished and has a well-equipped kitchen, although there is no microwave. This year we had the added benefit of internet access at no extra cost which we found very useful. The satellite TV enabled us to have access to all the Freeview channels and there is a DVD player but TV & DVD are a little dated by today's standards. There are quite a lot of ex-pats in the village but the village still retains its authentic character and charm and the locals are very friendly. There are quite a few restaurants and bars in the village to choose from, many offering reasonably priced menu of the day- El Pilar restaurant is one we found particularly good. The house is managed by a local agent who has been extremely helpful during both our stays. We have enjoyed our visits to Gaucin and shall no doubt return again at some stage in the future.
