GAUCIN is one of the famous Spanish 'pueblo blancos', the white villages of Andalucia. Set high on a mountain, GAUCIN commands spectacular views to the Mediterranean, the Rock of Gibraltar and the Rif Mountains of North Africa.
The village is overlooked by a Moorish castle, and the narrow winding streets with their white painted houses and pretty wrought iron balconies with masses of flowers, are quintessentially Spanish.
The area is well known not only for it's beauty but also for it's bird life which includes eagles, buzzards, bee-eaters and many other rare species. The terrain is perfect for those who enjoy walking, riding or cycling. The historic town of Ronda is 40 minutes away and the cities of Seville, Granada and Cordoba are all within easy reach.
For those who prefer sun and sand, the coast is just 30 minutes from Gaucin.
