Beautiful Andalusian Retreat

Review Submitted: September 1, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011
Casa Rosina is the perfect ‘get away from it all’ retreat, surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains and Lake Vinuela. You really are in the middle of traditional, rural Spain.

The property is very spacious and retains some wonderfully traditional features. There is ample space for six people and it is extremely well equipped. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need and we loved barbecuing by the pool area and eating on the terrace every night, looking out over the sunset. The children lived in the pool, perfectly sized for having a good splash and plenty of fun.

Maro beach is a must. Sunbeds, toilets, showers and a beach restaurant - well worth the drive and pretty easy to find. Periana is nearby and has a supermarket with everything we needed. It is very Spanish and we were lucky enough to be there for the annual Fiesta, which was great fun. The foam on the Sunday was one of the highlights of the children's stay!

Anne and David were fantastic hosts and know the area extremely well. They are great fun and were on hand to help us with anything we needed - nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to point us in the right direction, saving a lot of time and possible disappointment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend Casa Rosina and this part of Andalusia to anyone. We will definitely be back and look forward to exploring all the places we didn't get to see this time.

A special thank you to Anne and David for making our stay so special and for looking after us so well.

Two great weeks in Casa Rosina

Review Submitted: November 25, 2010 Date of Stay: July 2010
We would like to say how we enjoyed our stay in Andalucia. Not only is the area beautiful but we also loved the mountain villages and of course Cordoba and Granada. Our trip was made particularly pleasant by staying in Casa Rosina. The house is exactly what we expected, it is so spacious and well arranged. In addition the equipement is complete, nothing failed us and we always found what we needed. Added to this is the quiet place and superb views over Lake Viñuela. Furthermore we thank you for your welcome, your friendship and readiness to help and make our stay more enjoyable. Martine and Bruno

Wonderful holiday at Casa Rosina

Review Submitted: August 21, 2010 Date of Stay: July 2010

Encore merci.

Like a house borrowed from a good friend

Review Submitted: October 19, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We were looking for a place to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday with friends and happened upon an advert for Casa Rosina. The website was wonderfully helpful and gave a real sense of the house and environs, including a walk through tour. The house absolutely lived up to expectations. It surpasses most holiday rentals in several ways. Firstly it is spacious and the owners have resisted the urge to cram extra bedrooms in every available space. Secondly, it has a well-equipped kitchen. Too many rentals provide a minimum of equipment. Thirdly, it is tremendously useful to have access to David's help and local knowledge. We had various friends arriving in the course of the month and each new arrival was met at the airport by the car hire firm. We have all had the start of too many holidays spoiled queuing for a rental car or locating an out of the way office! There is a lot to do around Casa Rosina, which lies on the cusp of the campo and the coast. We preferred to head off into the hills and explore the real Andalucia. But a few of our number - especially those with kids, liked to head off to the beach for a day. Granada, Cordoba and Seville are within easy reach. All in all it's a great place to spend time. We spent a month. We could have spent two!

Casa Rosina - A lovely place to stay

Review Submitted: August 18, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This was the first time we stayed at Casa Rosina - it certainly won't be the last and we are already planning next years trip!!

The house was beautifully furnished in what I believe to be a traditional Spanish style - but with all of the essential things us Brits need for a perfect holiday, including hot August sunshine and a nice cool pool!!!. The house is huge and there is plenty of room for upto 6 adults to easily mill around without getting in each others way. The beds are so comfy that our biggest problem was sleeping in until mid morning and wondering where the days were going.

The location was also perfect. It's a good 40-50 mins away from Malaga airport so as you can image just the right distance form the tourist traps of the Costas! Nearby are sufficient small towns with numerous bars and restaurants offering delicious food and tapas. The wine in this region is also excellent. There are couple of small super markets / shops within 10 mins drive where you can top up your provisions but the main large supermarket is only about 20 mins away at a good shopping mall.

Prices in this region of Spain will take you back a few years and in no way can be compared to the coast. For our evening meals we rarely paid more than 35-40 euros for our family of 3 and we didn't skimp on the sangria..... If we made use of the daily Menu del Dia (3 courses inc drinks at about £7-£9 each) then considerably less again.

As others have said, the owners (Anne and David) were truly wonderful hosts and in fact I would go as far to say that meeting them was one of the highlights of the holiday.

A car is essential for exploration of this beautiful part of Spain.

As Arnie said "I'll be back..........".
