Surrounding
On those days when one wishes to leave this peace, possible visits to close by cities and towns such as the coastal Málaga, capital of the province and home to the new Picasso museum are not far off. Also in Malaga and now again open to visitors and completing the cultural, historical offering of the city are the Arab fortress 'La Alcazaba' and the Roman amphitheatre. Besides visiting the area of Sierra de las Nieves from La Era, day trips may be made to cities such as Ronda, Granada, Marbella, Antequera, El Chorro gorge and nearby lakes, Gibraltar, Cordoba, and Sevilla.
Access
La Era is easily reached from Malaga via the A-357 direction Cartama. After about twenty minutes on this road you will find a sign on your right indicating Casarabonela, Alozaina on the A - 354. Turn left onto this road and after 10 to 15 minutes turn right towards Casarabonela, before actually going into the village (A - 7275) and after the Peugeot Garage you will find on your right the first of six signs towards La Era. They will lead you to a dirt road (in good condition) and to two steep climbs which can be easily salvaged in first gear and stepping on the gas. Whether you are coming from the Malaga Airport or Marbella via the N-340 the prior roads are the same to reach La Era. From Sevilla or Granada the approach should be made via the A-92 first and later the A-382 to Campillos which connects with the A-357 direction Malaga and again reaching the A-354 into Casarabonela.

GUESTBOOK....From the moment we set foot in the front door, the welcome awaiting you made you feel you were visiting friends rather than staying in a hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and you make your guest feel very relaxed. We enjoyed all the different dishes you served. A really lovely hotel and one we will return to.
