Situated 30 kms from Malaga, Alora is a typical whitewashed village nestled between three hills. A magnificent 1,000 year old Moorish Castle sits atop the hillside and is illuminated at night, there are two traditional village squares and a new theatre named after Miguel Cervantes (who lived in Alora for a while). The village holds numerous colourful fiestas throughout the year to which everyone is welcome. Amongst the winding streets there are tapas bars, restaurants, cafes, a well stocked supermarket, shops and banks.
Alora is a very central location with easy access to Ronda, Granada, Antequera, El Chorro Gorge, the Torcal Natural Park, etc. and the beaches of the Costa del Sol can all be reached within max. 50 mins. (the nearest beach can be reached in 30 minutes)
Alora train station is a 10 minute drive away and is a cheap and easy way to reach Malaga Old Town with its Cathedral, Museums, and cafe culture without the hassle of parking.
