Casita Bonita is a well furnished, stylish villa - a comfortable home in a magnificent setting. The views from the property are spectacular - across the Sierra Almijara & down to the sea. On a clear day there is an uninterrupted view to the Atlas Mountains in North Africa. Ideal for a winter or summer break, the house has many home comforts & a well equipped kitchen for keen cooks. The price includes heating - electric heating in all rooms & a wood burner with an abundant supply of olive logs in the sitting room - very romantic. In winter the beds are made with All-seasons duvets to keep you warm & comfortable. For Christmas & the New Year we include a Christmas tree & Christmas table decorations. January 6th is the special event in Spain with the procession of the 3 Kings. Competa has number of events worthy of a visit. Easter is a special time in Competa with a must see Passion Play enacted by the villagers on Good Friday, Feria in July & Noche del Vino in August are highlights.
Relax and enjoy:
The villa has a beautiful, secluded private garden but also shares a large, well maintained communal garden and magnificent 14m x 6m swimming pool with the 9 other houses that make up this exclusive development. The house is situated in a very peaceful location, above Competa and yet is just a 5 minute walk to the nearest restaurant (the well regarded Cortijo Paco) and local shops. A further 3 minute walk takes you into Competa village square which hosts a lively market on Saturday and has a wide choice of bars and restaurants. Our villa offers peace, tranquility and privacy, far enough from the village to avoid any noise and yet you are able to join in lively village life without the need to drive. The 10 villas in the development are privately owned holiday homes and there are rarely more than 2 or 3 in use at any one time. Friends have reported having the pool to themselves in August.
Activities - walking & horse riding:
The villa Casita Bonita is a good base for those looking for a little more activity. The Sierra Almijara Natural Park is on the doorstep & is criss-crossed with marked trails to allow walkers to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. In May the area is alive with wild flowers. It is the perfect base for a self-guided walking holiday & we provide suggestions, maps & walks to make it easy. Walking routes vary from 1-9 hours in length with walking routes of varying degrees of difficulty. The best time for walkers is October to May. The villa is well equipped for all year use with warm duvets, a roaring log fire & electric heating to keep you warm and cosy in the winter. The area is a joy for horse riding - 5 minutes from the villa is a ranch offering riding lessons for adults and children and treks into the Sierra on beautiful Andalucian horses. For those with children, as well as the beaches there are water parks, zoos and the Tivoli World Fun Park is a 1 hour 15 minutes drive.
