SAYALONGA, VILLA BELLA VISTA,
Review Submitted: September 4, 2008
Date of Stay: July 2008
We stayed at the villa Bella Vista for 2 weeks in July/ August 2008 and had a fantastic time. The weather was hot hot hot and the pool was fantastic and just what our 10 year old, his friends (and us) needed . The villa has breathtaking views over the lovely small village of Sayalonga and is situated a short drive from larger coastal towns such as Neja, great beaches and cool water. 10 minutes away inland is Competa, (Try the tomatoes on toast for breakfast....Yummy!). Sayalonga has a bank and a small convenience shop along with cafe, restaurant and bar. A short drive 10-20 minutes in the neighbouring towns are a dazzling array wonderful restaurants etc. There is a large Lidl and a fantastic shopping mall called Eroski ( Shop till you drop here!) also around 15 - 20 minutes away. You also have a water park in the same area, which great fun for adults and kids and very very safe... the lifeguards are excellent.
Malaga is around a 1 hour drive where you can visit Tivoli world which is great fun...Go late in the day and stay till 2.00 am to keep cool.
The villa itself was spotless, beds made, very clean and tidy, and a huge array of cutlery, and cooking equipment, There were even fire-lighters for the barbecue. eating alfresco under the stars is what this holiday spot is all about......RELAXATION.
The TV and DVD worked fine with excellent instructions. Having a shower and a bath was great, as was having 2 bathrooms.
The villa and pool were maintained locally by an English couple who were extremely helpful with local knowledge. The pool was crystal clear, clean and wonderful.
Basically we had a great time, this villa is a perfect spot to recharge your batteries and yet at the same time close enough via a short drive to night-life for evening fun.
We recommend this villa to everyone young and old, families and couples...Its quite simply a real find............We hope to return in 2009..
Owner's Response: Future renters should note that there are three restaurant/bars and two bars in the village, all very close to each other. If you want to try tomatoes on toast for breakfast ask for tostada y tomate, delicious with extra olive oil. Tivoli World is indeed great fun but it is at Benalmadena not Malaga. There is a book at the villa containing many brochures and leaflets about interesting and exciting places to visit and things to do. We will be starting a visitors book soon and will encourage people to use it to pass on anything of interest to fellow travellers.
