The Mudéjar quarter of the Village of Frigiliana contains popular Arabic architectural structures of the purest origin which exist in the Province of Málaga. It's the town most rewarded for it`s beauty in Axarquía. In 1961 and 1967, it received respectively the First and the Second Award of Embellishment of the Towns of the County; in 1982 it gained the best reward of all with the First National Prize of Improvement and Embellishment of Towns in Spain. Six years later it obtained the First Prize of Improvement and Embellishment of Andalusian Towns. At the moment, in the Old quarter of Frigiliana, we are in the process of forming an Historical Artistic Group which hopes to prove that the architectural structures framed in the steep, narrow and uneven streets and alleys are still in essentially the same framework that was present several centuries ago.

on arrival the road leading to the villa seemed a challenge but it proved to be no problem after the 1st time. The location is ideal for those seeking a relaxing holiday but a car is essential. The property was clean and well maintained internally and external. Manuel, the owner, speaks excellent english and was very helpful. Nerja and Frigiliana are within 5 mins drive with a good selection of restaurants. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.

great spring hollidays

We stayed with 4 for a one week period during March 09. Realy excellent ratio quality/price house with all accomodation like cooking facilities, TV, airco, etc. Spacy parking place, even for friends visiting with big mobile home, and for our two cars. March was still too chilly for swimming, but garden is already very nice at time of the year. There is an allways intruiging avocado-field near to the house: can you eat it or not. Also good location too - at the hill slope, very nice costal views, and close to Frigiliana village (3 km walk or so, uphill) and Nerja town near the sea ( 5 km only) with ample choice for daily shopping. Also owner Manuel is very kind person, speaks good english and is always ready to help out. His e-mail and phone communications are swift and clear. Clear indications for how finding the place. We will be back. Thanks Manuel and family. The Belgians
