Almogia holiday villa

Sehr schöne Villa, traumhafter Garten, Ruhe & Erholung
Wir waren im September 2008 zu fünft da - und es war wirklich toll. Die Villa bietet viel Platz, hervorragende Ausstattung und einen traumhaft angelegten großen Garten mit großem Pool. Mitten in den Bergen Andalusiens gelegen, ohne direkte Nachbarn ist das der Ort zum Entspannen und Auftanken.
Haus und Garten sind sehr gepflegt. Die Besitzer haben Umfangreiches Informationsmaterial zur direkten Umgebung zusammengestellt (wohin kann man essen gehen, was gibts zu sehen, wo sind Tankstelle, Supermarkt, etc.). Der Service war hier perfekt - wir mieten seit Jahren Häuser in allen möglichen Ecken Europas -> aber einen so guten Service hatten wir noch nie. David & Margaret haben, angefangen von der äusserst ausführlichen Wegbeschreibung zum Haus über die vielen Informationen zur Umgebung sowie zur "Bedienung des Hauses" an alles gedacht und wir fühlten uns ausnahmslos gut aufgehoben und versorgt. Bei unserer Ankunft war der Kühlschrank mit dem wichtigsten gefüllt, Handtücher, Bettwäsche, Toilettenpapier, Spülmaschinentabs, Waschpulver, etc... alles da! Wir haben das noch nie so erlebt! Vielen Dank noch einmal!
Der für uns einzige Wehrmutstropfen: Wir wollten eigentlich mehr in der "Gegend" unternehmen, z.B. Gibraltar besuchen, die Alhambra anschauen (haben wir auch ;o)), Sevilla besuchen... Da das Haus in den Bergen rund 20 km von Malaga entfernt liegt, die Straßen zum Haus aber ausschließlich aus Serpentinen bestehen braucht man ca. 40 Minuten bis nach Malaga und zur Autobahn, was einen Ausflug ganz nett in die länge zieht... wir haben uns dann dazu entschieden, diesen wunderschönen Ort und die tolle Unterkunft mehr auszunutzen und weniger durch die Landschaft zu fahren - und was soll ich sagen: es war toll!

We have stayed in many villas over the last ten years, but without a doubt this is one of the best. The views were stunning, yet quiet and peaceful. Both inside and outside were equipped to a very high standard, there wasn't anything we felt was missing! The outside space was huge: you could sit somewhere different everyday! But you definitely need a car. Because of its very rural location shops and restaurants weren't in great abundance but that is a price you pay for tranquility.
If we were to buy a villa abroad San Antonio would be our first choice.

Villa San Antonio, sequestered in a green (Spring) or golden (Summer) valley, where you watch the sun rise from your bedroom window knowing you can expect a beautiful day of sunshine, warmth, and tranquilllity, is prettily and practically arranged for a perfect holiday. With every convenience and facility, the spacious living area, gleaming bathrooms, comfortable bedrooms, and spotless kitchen make all visitors feel immediately at home.

There is such a choice of places to relax: an armchair under the shady covered terrace where you can also dine or barbecue; a lounger on a quiet patio or by the splendid pool; a comfortable swing-seat under the shade of a lovely eucalyptus tree; a spot on the lawn away from everyone.

The villa and its garden are kept beautifully. Brilliantly coloured flowering plants and shrubs line the pool surround, dot the attractive gravelled spaces, and spread out among the red rocks of the hillside at the back of the villa. Succulents with their gorgeous flowers complement yuccas and feathery grasses; wonderfully scented jasmines compete with trailing ivy up the supports of the terrace. Sparrows nest here and swallows skim the pool's surface for insects in the cool of the evening.

Yet this quiet haven is only 10 minutes drive from the steep streets of Almogia, a pueblo blanco of enormous character, or Paco's wonderful restaurant in Pastelero; 15 minutes from the charming town of Villanueva de la Concepcion. The fabulous limestone cliffs and fantastically shaped karst scenery of El Torcal rise above Villanueva and provide marvellous walking, views, and birdwatching (eagles are regular visitors). Malaga is 40 minutes away to the south and a miniature Malaga, the smart town of Antequera, is 45 minutes to the north with its superb restaurants, interesting bull ring, ancient Moorish fortress, wonderful cathedral. and great shopping.
