Originally 2 rural houses Cortijo Los Pelaes has been sympathetically rebuilt to the highest of specifications using a blend of old and new Andalusia styles. With 378 sq/m of internal space & 4 private terraces it offers luxury holiday accommodation for 2 families in complete comfort.

The house has been furnished and equipped to the highest of standards and provides a true 'home away from home' experience, a 9m private pool with stunning mountain as the backdrop and a expansive paved pool surround and garden terracing. The cortijo is approached up a short track which sees minimal traffic other then the occasional farmer on his tractor. Olive groves and mountains make up the scenery with the village of Rosario in the distance. Rosario has all the necessary amenities including petrol, bank, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, tapas bars and restaurants.

The property is located in a typical white washed Andalusian rural village of Villanueva del Rosario surround by spectacular mountains and endless sweeping olive groves. Fiestas in August culminate in bulls running the streets. The historic town of Antequera is 20 mins away and has many attractions like its Bullring, Tapas bars, weekly market, the newly opened Antequera golf course, Wolf Park and El Torcal National Park. Archidonas 18th centrury Plaza Ochavada and monastry are 15mins. Malaga airport, shops and beaches are 30 mins away. Granada is 80 kms drive with its famous Alhambra palace. Only 1 hours drive and you reach the skiing worlds best kept secret - Sierra Nevada. As Europe's most southerly ski resort with extensive snow making machines you will enjoy sun drenched skiing with views of the Atlas mountains in Africa. In summer you can camp in the Sierra Nevada national park and walk to the peak 'Veleta' 3394m. Rio Frio, famous caviar and trout farms is 20 mins drive away.

  • Bedroom 4 has 1 double futon designed to sleep 1 teenager or 2 smaller children. There is a further sleeping area on a mezzanine level which is accessed via a steep wooden staircase (with banister and gate at the top). The restricted height mezzanine sleeping area has 2 single beds but we don’t consider it is suitable for children under 6 yrs old due to the steep stairs. The mezzanine level also gets hot during July and August as it is at the top of the house with heat rising during the day. The A/C just does not seem to cool it down very effectively during August. Three of the bedrooms all enjoy large private first floor terraces which are safe for children and have lovely views. Travel cot and high chair available on request. All bedrooms have independent AC/heating units. All windows have blinds, double glazed and built in mosquito nets.

Notes: There is a wood burning fireplace in the sitting room which makes the house ideal for winter months. There is free view satellite TV with most English terrestrial channels, DVD player, PS2 with some games, CD and stereo system as well as a beautiful 7ft pool table. Lots of books, CD's, games and DVDs to keep everyone entertained. A high chair, booster chair, stair gates and travel cot are all available on request. Children are very welcome. The house has 4 large terraces, 2 on the ground floor and 2 off the upstairs bedrooms. The pool and garden area include 450m of non slip tiled terracing around the pool, indigenous garden areas with Cactus and bright flowers and a large fixed BBQ. Additionally there is a secluded rear 'Sevillia' patio, a outside laundry room with washing machine and dryer and a outside cloakroom and shower for use when swimming. Underground garage with remote control gates provides secure parking for 2 cars & keeps them cool in summer months.

Coast Beach: We are 30 mins north of Malaga and the busy tourist destinations of Costa de Del Sol. Waterparks, beaches, Scuba diving, international boutiques and nightlife abound.

Skiing: Only 1 hours drive and you reach the skiing worlds best kept secret - Sierra Nevada. As Europe's most southerly ski resort with extensive snow making machines you will enjoy sun drenched skiing with views of the Atlas mountains in Africa. The season runs through until early April and ski schools in Sierra Nevada speak English and are very friendly. The owners can recommend suitable establishments.

Outdoor activities: The local countryside affords the traveller great opportunities to discover Spain's wildlife, bird life and fauna. The landscape is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing and horse riding.

In summer you can climb the second highest mountain in Spain; El Veleta @ 3335m in the Sierra Nevada range.

Flamingos and storks breed in the surrounding lakes. Trout fishing and caviar can be found in nearby Riofrio or you can simply climb the mountains in front of the property or just wander the endless olive groves.

The owners will happily advise.

Golf:

Andalusia as a whole offers some wonderful Golf courses all within driving distance from Cortijo Los Pelaes. Closest is the newly opened Antequera Golf course which is located 25 mins drive and offers spectacular hilltop golfing with stunning rural mountain views and lush greens.

My friend and I stayed here and we had a fab time!
The villa is surrounded by stunning views of the mountains.
The pool and terrace is fantastic for sunbathing and is very private!
The villa is furnished fantastically.

Can't think of a single bad word to stay, except for the fact that we had to leave.

The village is lovely and a mere 2 minute drive away.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

Beautiful home, fantastic location!

This villa is absolutely stunning- couldn't fault it. Swimming in the pool, you are surrounded by beautiful mountain views, quietness and wonderfully fresh air. At dusk, we enjoyed bat watching from the terraces and in the mornings we woke up to bird song. 1st class kitchen and bathrooms and plenty of space for families/friends to avoid being in each other's pockets. Very clean and well maintained, very hospitable owners, great village with ameneties close by. Highly recommended!

Amazing Villa!

Have just returned from a 2 week stay and can quite honestly say that it was the most relaxing holiday ever. The villa is beautiful, with everything you could wish for. Our group consisted of 2 sisters with our husbands and children (one 4 year old and four teenagers) and their grandparents visiting for one week. It really did suit everyone. The location is very rural so a car is essential but the nearby village has all amenities. We spent most of our time in or around the wonderful pool and on the terraces. There was an abundance of pool toys which we made good use of. The weather was fabulous with temperatures reaching the mid 30s. Views were to die for and we would definitely consider returning. Many thanks to Alyson, Rob and Patsy for making our trip the success it was.

wow - what a villa

just returned after two week stay and I have to stay this is one of the nicest villas i have ever stayed in. everything that you need to have a relaxing stay is there. we have 2 kids under 6 and we stayed with another couple who also have the same and there was more than enough room for all. the pool was wonderful which is really important when trying to entertain 4 kids. not one downside with this beautiful place - would highly recommend if you want to stay in a lovely villa in a quieter location. local village is small but has all amenities needed and very friendly locals.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
