Casa Santa Maria is a luxury 3 En-Suite bedroomed detached villa (set in 7,650 sq ms),overlooking the magnificent Lake Vinuela and with breathtaking views of the Sierra Tejada Mountains. The property will suit those wishing for a tranquil, romantic and relaxing family holiday. The villa is easily accessible from Malaga Airport (45 minutes steady drive) and is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A notable feature of this property is the large private swimming pool (10 x 5 metres)compared with the standard 8 x 4. The external area is particularly safe and secure for families with children - a large grassed area (specially imported soft English grass) to the front and side of the property ensures plenty of freedom for games and other activities not normally associated with villa accommodation in the region.

Casa Santa Maria is located in Los Montes, 5 minutes drive from Los Romanes. The surrounding area provides breathtaking scenery with whitewashed Andalucian villages at the foot of the mountains, alongside Lake Vinuela. The coastal resort of Torre del Mar is only 15-20 minutes drive and the large shopping mall and hypermarket at Velez Malaga are only 15 minutes away as is the aqua park. The coastal town of Nerja with its beautiful beaches is approximately 30 minutes drive and the Sierra Nevada mountains are 90 minutes away.

Notes: The property is fitted throughout with high spec fixtures and fittings. The bespoke luxury kitchen is fully fitted with granite worktops and hand built granite breakfast bar designed by the owners. Appliances are integrated. There are grills on all windows and doors for added security and ceiling fans to keep you cool throughout the year. In the lounge area there is a DVD player in addition to satellite TV viewing (please bring a selection of your own DVD's with you) and also a playstation with a selection of games and books and magazines for the whole family. Although the property is non-smoking, we have provided ash trays for use outside on the covered terrace.

Golf:: Two very good courses nearby:- Baviera Golf at Caleta De Velez - 15-20 minutes away (18 holes), length 5,910 metres Par 72. Club Anoreta at Rincon de la Victoria - 25 minutes away (18 holes), length 5,976 metres Par 72.

Places of Interest:: Granada (Alhambra Palace is worth a visit). Takes approx 1 hr to drive. Nerja Caves - underground caves at Nerja. 30 Minutes drive. Sierra Nevada - spectacular mountain range with ski resort. 90 minutes drive. Ronda - approximately 1 hour drive. Malaga - cultural city with beautiful architecture and excellent shopping! 45 minutes drive. Spanish Pueblos (whitewashed villages) - can be found dotted around the lake and mountain area.

Rental rates:: As the villa is accessible via a dirt track for the last 6-7 minutes of the journey, we recommend the use of a 4x4 until the road is re-surfaced. We have, therefore, negotiated a competitive price for this with a reputable rental company.

This is without doubt the best villa we have rented over the course of the last 10 years! If you are looking for peace and tranquility in a stunning location you will not go far wrong with this. The villa is furnished and equipped to an excellent standard, with a stunning kitchen and beautiful bathrooms all of which were spotlessly clean. What we also particularly liked was that the villa was very secure ( we were burgled in one of our previous choices so this is important to us). There are good shopping facilities about 15 minutes away, and some pretty spanish villages just a few minutes from the villa. For those that want the beach then it is only a 30 minute drive. The road to the villa is scarey for the first few trips but you do get used to it..absolutely loved it and we are looking forward to another visit hopefully in September.

PEACEFUL ,IDYLLIC LUXURIOUS VILLA

This Villa is perched on a mountainside with breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and lake.For those used to a hectic daily work schedule this location is a perfect place to escape to.The quietness is wonderful.
The Villa itself is fabulous with the lounge and kitchen area being overwhelming. The private swimming pool is a really good size and the oudoors barbeque was very popular with ourselves during both the the day and evening.The location is a great central base to head off to explore inland through the mountain ranges (Granada)or to head off down the coast to find the beautiful unspoilt beaches to the east of Nerja.(National Reserve).
Would recommend a hire of a 4x4 car for duration of your stay.
Overall was excellent. Definitely plan to return.

I have stayed at many privately owned villas throughout the world over many years, but have yet to find one with such breathtaking views across the region. The sight of the sun coming up in the early morning is one I shall never forget over a cup of tea by the pool.
The villa has everything that you require for complete peace and solitude and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away from it all and chill out for a couple of weeks.
I will certainly return at the earliest opportunity.

Excellant away from it all holiday. Accomadation quality is very good and the pool was fantastic. The furnishing were of a high standard. Plenty of room and a barbecue. Great views from high position. Pleanty of places to visit in a beautiful area. You do need a car as up a hill but well worth it to visit this villa & area.
