Days out and areas of interest:
Nerja Caves, Nerja town, Burriana beach, sea water sports and restaurants 40 minutes. Calletta Marina 20 minutes. Granada Alhambra Palace 90 minutes. Hot Springs bathing at Alhama de Granada 40 minutes. The cities of Malaga and Granada will provide a most pleasant and rewarding day out, as well as Marbella, Puerto Banus, Torremolinos and Fuegirola.
There are markets all around the area on most days
The Sierra Nevada Ski resort is two hours away, this is a fantastic day out during the winter period. You can spend the day skiing, and many other snow sports. There are restaurants and shops in the snow covered village and cabin lifts which will take you up the skiing areas, even if you do not ski the sights will be unforgettable. You can then return to the warmth of the coast on your way home and watch the sunset from outside a beach restaurant.
Local area:
The local villages of Puente Don Manuel, La Vinuela, Alcaucin, Los Romanes, are all friendly with small bars where you will receive a warm reception from the locals.

Torre Del Mar is the nearest beach Town Resort and is still very much a Spanish environment, the shops are interesting and well stocked. they are set back from the beach promenade which provides safe bathing in the day with many local restaurants and a unique family atmosphere of a night, with many strolling along until 2am in the cool of the evening. This unspoilt part of the coast is a firm favourite with residents and visitors.
Local Activities:
Lake Vinuela has many attractions, there are two excellent restaurants with fantastic views. Permissible water sports include swimming, sailing, fishing, canoes, windsurfing. Other activities to be found locally are mountain biking, horse riding, bird watching and hiking. There are a couple of local Golf courses Bavaria Golf 15 minutes drive, and Club Anoretta 25 minutes drive.
