This fully air-conditioned detached spacious villa lies just below the tiny white village of Los Romanes and enjoys fabulous uninterrupted views over Lake Vinuela with its amazing turquoise coloured water and the most dramatic backdrop of the the mountain ranges of Sierra Tejada. The village which is a typical Pueblo is a 10min walk away and has a very good restaurant which has an excellent reputation with the locals and holiday makers, two small super markets, village bars and an olive mill. There are other excellent restaurants on the lake shore where the views are equally spectacular and the most amazing jamoneria that sells fantastic wines, hams and cheeses,. The villa is superbly located near to an excellent connecting road network giving very easy access to all main centres including Marbella 60- 70 min away, Granada 90 mins, Nerja 30 minutes. Our local beach resort of Torre Del Mar is only 15 minutes away.

This is a really pretty area with green rolling hills and the dramatic mountains of the Sierra Tejada rearing up across the lake to twice the height of Mount Snowdon, occasionally you will see buzzards soaring across the lake from their homes in the rocky heights, smaller birds of prey are quite common too. You need only cross the lake to the 'Natural Park' where the walking is said to be un-equalled anywherre in Spain. In the Spring the fields are carpeted with the prettiest wildflowers you've ever seen. Throughout the year, but especially in August, there are lots of festivals and carnivals to which the locals will welcome you with typical Andalucian warmth. If wild life is not to your taste then there are local beaches stretching along the whole of the coast, there is a great water park with huge slides in nearby Torre Del Mar, and the town of Nerja offers spectacular caves to visit, not to mention the 'Balcon de Europa' and the trendy Burriana Beach area.

  • Changeover day is negotiable so that renters can take advantage of cheaper mid week flights. Reductions will be given for couples wishing to rent during low or mid season. Please contact owner. A deposit of £200 per week secures booking. No security deposit required.Consideration should be given to flying into Granada Airport which is only about 1 1/4 Hours away from the villa. Granada airport may be a cheaper and more convenient alternative to Malaga airport during the busy summer months. Long lets throughout Autumn and winter months considered.

Notes: The fully fitted kitchen, with its dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle etc, is really easy to run, cooking for six is no problem in the full sized oven and the dishwasher does the rest! The family sized washing machine is situated in a separate utility room and there is a full 'whirlygig' clothes line which dries the washing in no time. Full Air conditioning/heating is installed and a log burning stove is also installed in the lounge for that extra touch of cosiness, olive wood logs are supplied. As well as A/C, all bedrooms have ceiling fans fitted which makes for a very pleasant environment. The large covered terrace has a built in BBQ, outside dining set and very comfortable patio seating for 6 adults. The rooftop solarium offers secluded sun bathing area and even more spectacular views and the private garden has a swimming pool with large sun bathing area. If you wish to take your own music selection I have provided an i pod docking station .

Out and about: Places to Visit (Alhambra at Granada) - this magnificent sight is definitely worth a visit. The drive is about 1 and a half hours. (Nerja Caves) - Spectacular Cave Complex. (Alpujarrás) - The setting for the popular book 'Driving over Lemons'. (Traditional Spanish Pueblos) - Hundreds of traditional Spanish 'white washed' villages can be found in the Andalusian countryside. Each has its own character and have remained unchanged for hundreds of years. (Sierra Nevada) - Magnificent mountain range including ski resort. The coast and the beaches are only 15 minutes away by car at Torre del Mar or explore further with the beaches of Torrox and Nerja east of Torre del Mar, all within half and hour drive of the villa. If you go west towards Malaga, the Marina and Old town are well worth a visit with its Picasso Museum and Cathedral area a must. Further afield about 45minutes are the more bustling towns of Mijas Benalmadena, and Fuengirola.

Villa information: A welcome pack is provided which includes local wine and other goodies to give you a good start to your holiday. You have exclusive use of the swimming pool which is approximately 8Metres by 4 Metres and 2Metres deep at the deepest end and 1.25 Metres at the shallow end. Surrounding the pool is very good sized patio area with 5 sunbeds and mattresses and a parasol and coffee tables. The views from the pool are unbelievable, there is plenty of room for games around the pool if you can stop looking at the views. Provision is made inside the villa to escape the sun with plenty of books, games, and TV DVD etc

Baviera Golf: Baviera Golf Course Opened in 2002, the Baviera Golf Course is located 20mins drive from the villa at La Caleta de Velez and is open all year. This 18 hole, par 71, 5066 metres course was designed by the European tour professional José Maria Cañizares and has wide fairways and large, fast greens plus there are some cleverly placed water hazards which put this course in the moderately difficult bracket. Facilities include golf buggies, practice balls, pitch and putt, driving range, covered driving range, golf school, caddies, club rental, trolleys, lockers, dressing rooms, showers, club house, restaurants and a pro shop. this was our second time at the villa and it just gets better, great place for relaxing and taking it easy. The villa is fantastic and so is the pool, nothing better than sitting on veranda over looking the lake and mountains especially at night, and the air con is a godsend. We are looking forward to going back already. Highly recommend El Charco restaurant at top of mountain

Relaxing Holiday.

The Villa is an excellent property, which fully came up to our expectations. All rooms are a good size for their purpose, and the lounge, with it's fireplace, was a delight when the cool of the evening came along. The verandah and sun terrace, around the pool, presented many options for relaxing, reading, sun bathing, eating and drinking...! The Villa really is in an excellent location. Wonderful views from the terrace and even better from the solarium. This is helped by the villas either side being set further back and a little lower. There are two good restaurants, one in Los Romanes, one in the other direction, both within 15/20 minutes walking for the average person. There are small supermarkets (one called 'Arkrights'!) across the Lake, and much larger ones outside Nerja, about 20 minutes away by car. The old parts of Nerja, much now pedestrianised, were a delight, and the beaches along the coast on either side were all within easy driving. The Villa is in a good position for ready access to activities such as walking, sightseeing and water borne play around the Lake. The Villa is a comfortable drive of around 30 minutes from Malaga airport. I would recommend the Villa to anyone for a truly relaxing holiday; it was clean and in good order, the owner having paid attention to detail, and provided an excellent level of service.

May half term holiday

We had a wonderful time at this villa - the view was absolutely stunning and the pool was perfect for us (a family of five). The villa had a warm feel to it, had everything you could need and was absolutely spotless. We would definitely holiday here again!

A car is an absolute must, That said although you are in a rural position you are only 5 mins drive from about three or four restaurants - all lovely and about 15 mins from a huge supermarche.

There are loads of lovely villages to visit and the caves at Nerja were worth a look - especially for the kids.

Everything about the villa was great, it felt like home from home as it was all so comfortable, except our home doesn't have the spectacular views that awaited us, sitting out on the terrace overlooking the pool and the lake was simply magical. Thank you so much for a great base for our holiday, our only regret was that being March we couldn't use the pool.

Restaurant El Charco in the village is superb and was our favourite although the two on the lakes are also good.

It is an ideal spot for a lovely, relaxing holiday and we would highly recommend it.

Fantastic Holiday!!!

We had a abolutley fantastic time at this Villa and would recommend to anyone, especially groups of couples and famillies. The views are stunning, the villa has everything you need, and more and the weather and pool are great. The villa is of a high standard and extremely well cared for. The private pool and garden are lovely and the terrace is great to sit and have BBQ's overlooking the view. Easy to get to by car, about 45mins from Malaga and 1 hour from Granada. Good selection of local eaterys (be prepared to walk up a hill though!) and in a great location to vivit loads of local towns like Torrox, Nerja, Casabamerja etc. We'll be going back! Thanks for a wonderful holiday!
