Alcudia area holiday apartment: Pto Alcudia

This property was well maintained, spacious and clean with two bathrooms both fully fitted out with bath and shower facilities - a real bonus on a family holiday. The arrangements for locating the property were well planned out and we met with no complications.
The location of the apartment was exactly as detailed in the description just 50 metres from the beach - an ideal location for families with young children. We went with two teenagers (!) and again the location was excellent as it meant they could have their independence because everything was within walking distance.
From the balcony to the right you could see the beach and to the left was the busy main road through Alcudia. It was to be expected that at such a central location there would be some noise late into the evening but this did not spoil our enjoyment of the holiday.
The shops and restaurants were a five minute walk from the apartment and although we did hire a car it was not at all necessary unless you wanted to explore the rest of the island. If you want a very filling and value for money meal in Alcudia I would recommend Lunas as somewhere to try.
Alcudia is a very busy town both during the day and into the evening. The beach is beautiful and very clean and the sea is safe for children as it is shallow for a considerable distance. There are many activities in which you can get involved, mainly watersports and also horse riding. There is a Hydro Park in Alcudia which is very popular but at 17 euros for adults and children over 11 it can be an expensive day out.
The local markets are excellent and well worth a visit especially in Port Pollensa (Wednesday) and in the old town of Pollensa especially (Sunday) where the atmosphere is really lovely. The old town of Alcudia is also very worth while visiting as is the Port of Alcudia. We had the benefit of a hire car to visit these places but the bus service is very good.
I would certainly recommend this property to a friend with children of all ages but perhaps not to a couple who were looking for a quiet and relaxing location.
