Edificio Bahia is situated on the pedestrianised promenade. Easy access to bars, restaurants, supermarkets. The beach (Playa d'en Repic) is 10 meters from the front entrance. All amenities are a level walk, no uphill treks! A tram service runs every 30 mins to the picturesque town of Soller. The tram stop is approximately 200m from the apartment. Sóller shares its valley with the villages of Fornalutx and Biniaraix. The villages of Deià & Valdemossa are also nearby. Soller & the Port of Soller is in the 'Serra de Tramuntana' which is a much loved destination for walkers. Nearby: Scuba diving, canoeing, boat trips, fishing and sailing. Palma airport is approximately 30 mins drive. Car Hire is not necessary. The Sóller to Palma train service has been running since 1912, and still retains its original character. It links up with the local tram that goes through the orange groves to the Port of Sóller.

A little gem - a beautifully cared for apartment for year round holidays, in a perfect position. The apartment is very carefully equipped and has extra touches such as comfy chairs to carry to the beach (a matter of yards), so no need to keep hiring sun beds and also plentiful heating for winter breaks. Unlike so many holiday apartments that are bleak and cold in winter, El Sueno is cosy and warm. The view from the small terrace through the valley to Soller is beautiful and the position on the pedestrianised side of the beach is superb.

There is an excellent choice of very good restaurants within walking distance and the area provides so much more than just a beach holiday - it has stunning scenery, a lovely Mallorcan town a short tram ride away, and wonderful walking/running all around. There are so many lovely places to visit, accessible by local buses, that it's not really necessary to hire a car.

We would recommend El Sueno without hesitation - it is beautifully cared for, extremely well equipped and comfortable. The apartment is looked after for the owners by Veronica, who lives locally, and is available for advice/assistance if necessary and who will gladly organise a taxi to/from the airport if required.

We will most definitely be returning to El Sueno.

I agree with all the comments provided by previous reviews. A clean, well maintained property, provided by a considerate and diligent owner. The location is perfect in every way, close to the beach and local restaurants.
Puerto de Soller is a lovely place retaining much of its original character, however during July/August, do expect it to be as busy as most beaches in Mallorca/Spain. Numerous restaurants, most of which provided good food at a reasonable price, however care should be taken when visiting some cafes in the Port area as charges for soft drinks can be outrageous.

El Sueño really does live up to what is in the property details. We could not think of anything that we needed that wasn't provided and what is provided is of good quality. The location couldn't be better for the beach, local restaurants and the tram. OK, so you have to pay for on street parking at the rear of the apartment but 3 Euros a day hardly breaks the bank. Port De Soller is also a excellent resort set around a very attractive bay. Plenty of amenities but not spoilt by excessive development and crowds of people.
Owner's Response: A free car park is available within 150 metres of the apartment.

A Return to El Sueno

This was our second visit to El Sueno and I must admit that after we had booked I started to have second thoughts as sometimes things aren't really as good as you remember. I shouldn't have worried - far from not living up to expectations, it in fact exceeded them. The description of the apartment is in no way hyped up - what you read is exactly what you get - a spotlessly clean, very well equipped apartment right on the beach with the added plus of overlooking the mountains rather than the sea which makes it very quiet and peaceful.
We chose not to hire a car on either of our two visits and got around quite easily on the bus or tram. The airport transfers with Pierre could not have run more smoothly and on both occasions he was early picking us up from the apartment which was good as there is always the anxiety that a taxi will let you down.
This year Sky TV had been installed and for those who hate to miss their favourite programmes or if the weather is inclement will make all the difference. Although having said that, the apartment has a really good selection of DVDs and CDs - not to mention the library which has something to suit all tastes. The owners have tried to think of everything that would make their apartment feel like a home from home, and I think they have succeeded. In addition they are flexible and are willing to accept mid-week bookings so that holiday makers can take advantage of 'cheap' flights. The ease of booking is also a plus - no long wait to get a response from the highly efficient Sue.
We can't recommend this property too highly if you want a relaxing holiday with all the comforts of home. If the bright lights and night life is your 'thing' give Puerto Soller a miss.

An Apartment that exceeded expectations!

"El Sueño" more than lives up to expectations. The Apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures and description.

We holidayed for a week between 12-19 March 2008. The Apartment was spotlessly clean, fresh and inviting. The living area is extremely spacious, light and airy. Furnishings are of good quality and unmarked, Everything is well equipped, right down to the fresh candle on the balcony for enjoying the last of the sunlight setting against the Tramuntana mountains. Air conditioners (cooling and heating) are quiet and efficient. Background heaters give a boost if required. If you really do want to be exposed to UK television then the installed SKY system worked well!

The availability of the Apartments housekeeper (who speaks impeccable English) in case of problems is a reassuring bonus. We were met at the door after telephoning our imminent arrival and given a comprehensive tour of the Apartment. Prior to our arrival the Owner contacted us to advise of an outstanding repair to the washing machine. We appreciated the advance warning and thus took more clothes than we originally intended. Communication before and after our rental has been excellent on all fronts.

"El Sueño" is at the quieter end of the beachfront, but is still served by a local mini-market and numerous bars and restaurants. A 10 minute walk along the front, across the tram track will take you to the heart of the town for a greater selection of shops and restaurants.

Puerto de Soller is one of the quieter resorts and we have only ever experienced it early in the season - we dislike crowds and even prefer the weather a little less extreme than the Summer months. We find it an ideal resort in its own right and as a base for exploring by car. We stayed to the west of the main road that runs from Palma to Alcudia and thus experienced the mountains, the villages, the unspoiled towns rather than the beaches, unbrellas and noise that suit those more active than ourselves.

We fully intend returning to Puerto de Soller, and have already decided that our first choice of Apartment will be "El Sueño". This is a real gem and should figure highly on anyones shortlist of possibilities.
