The Old Gas House . Soller

I have stayed at this property three times over the last three years and would highly recommend it.
The great joy of the apartment is that it is wonderfully tranquil and peaceful, with a sun catching balcony looking out over the mountains. However, when you are tired of peace and quiet, all you have to do is walk downstairs, and with three strides you are in the square, with its 17th century church, cafes, art gallery, and wonderful buzz.
The apartment itself is beautifully finished, quietly and comfortably decorated, with a very well equipped kitchen, excellent bathrooms ( terrific pressure in the showers), and small but comfortable bedrooms. Sitting room complete with books, dvds, sky televison. All very clean and well maintained.
Local transport is excellent, buses to everywhere, cheap, reliable and fairly frequent, the tram to the port and the train to Palma. Cafe Soller is the place for simple and reasonable lunches and dinners, or maybe just a cup of coffee while you read their selection of newspapers, English/Spanish/German, delivered every day.
The market on saturday, will provide you with a visual as well as a foodie treat, and there are bakeries, wine shops, and little delicatessens scattered up the lanes that radiate off the square. The port has a big selection of cafes and restaurants, running along the traffic free shore.
Finally the walking is amazing, the trail that takes you from Deia ( get there on the bus) to Soller, wanders through an ancient, terraced land and seascape and takes you through the garden of a grand finca where you can stop, catch your breath, drink coffee and try the best lemon tart in Majorca.
Owner's Response: Soller is a very magical place, so this is a very good insight to staying in the apartment and enjoying time in the town.
