'ESQUEREDO' and its guest house 'LA CASA DOS' comprise an ancient Alquería (farmstead) on the edge of Fornalutx in Calle del Viento - 'the Road of the Wind.' Adjacent to Castille Del Munt, the great house and Keep that stands on the 10th Century fortified farmstead, this is the oldest part of Fornalutx. High on the edge of the village and partially on the castle wall, ESQUEREDO has stunning, uninterrupted views of the Sóller Valley and Puig Major, while LA CASA DOS has a more intimate and protected vista onto the Tramuntana Mountains. These would have been the town houses of the smaller farms that were tithed to Castille del Munt. Both houses underwent extensive restoration in 1998-99 completely modernising the facility, while retaining the fine exterior stonework and charming antique interior ceramic tile, terracotta, wood beams and antique windows. Separate but adjoining, both can be rented together for up to 7 guests with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms or separately for 2 - 5 persons

ESQUEREDO is a delightful, spacious house for 4/5 persons wrapped around a picturesque, secluded cul-de-sac in the historic village of Fornalutx. The house commands stunning, uninterrupted views of the Puig Major, the highest mountain in the Tramuntana Mountains, as it sits partially on the ancient castle wall of 10th C Moorish tower and fortified farmstead. Master Queen bedroom & spacious, airy en-suite bathroom. 2nd Bedroom with King-size or 2 single beds. Main bathroom with large bathtub & double shower. Cook’s kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and fridge. Breakfast room. Breakfast/dinner patio seating 5, adjacent to kitchen with large, built-in barbecue. FORNALUTX sits nestled in the most spectacular vale within the Serra de Tramuntana - the valley of Sóller. The village is an oasis of tranquillity, with historic houses built in mellow, caramel-coloured stone, lining cobbled mule steps rising above a charming town plaza. Known as the 'Aldea Mil Años' (Village of a Thousand Years) it commands fabulous views of orange groves and olive terraces climbing high into the backdrop. One can almost experience the spirit of the early settlers. The Venetian traders cutting through the high passes in search of olive oil, the then currency of the Mediterranean. The Roman soldiers milling Saharan wheat in the water mills powered by the valley’s abundant springs. The Moors, with their understanding of all things created in stone, ceramic and terracotta. November-March €550 euros p.w. for 2 persons booking for a month or longer (excl. Christmas, New Year and Easter pro-rated as above). 5% discount 8-13 days, 1 free night 14+ days. €25 euro party surcharge Sunday per check-in/check-out. €10 per person/per week laundry charge (Commercially laundered and pressed/new high quality sheets & towels.)
  • We require a 25% transferable deposit to confirm the booking and have advantageous cancellation/postponement terms for transferable deposits of 50% or 100%. Balance required 2 weeks prior to arrival. Our minimum booking is 4 nights. Bookings of 4-6 nights require a 50% deposit, which is transferable to other dates in the event of a cancellation/postponement, provided we receive 21 days notice.
  • For reservations made from the Euro-zone and the UK we request a SWIFT wire transfer or IBAN Interbank transfer to our account in Spain... For reservations from the UK we can accept direct deposit into our NatWest Bank account... For reservations from the USA & Canada we can accept $USD personal checks for the deposit and $/Euro Wire-transfer for balance. All currency conversions from Euros is calculated ON THE DATE PAYMENT IS DUE.

Note that dogs have to be 'walked out' on a leash. NO SMOKING in the house: use the secluded cul-de-sac for a quick puff. Smoking is allowed on the Patio and Roof Terrace.

I'm feeling rested and refreshed due to the great holiday we had in Mallorca. Everything went smoothly, we got to places like Porto Cristo, Lluc for Sunday mass, Inca, Port Soller. Esqueredo was a fantastic accommodation and was larger than we expected. We enjoyed relaxing on the top terrace and the wonderful view and surprising quiet. We also enjoyed the lizards that scurried around the kitchen (How did you ever house break them?) I hope you realize how blessed you are to own a home that others are so happy to have rented if only for a week. Thanks again, it was a wonderful and memorable holiday. We will certainly recommend it to friends and business acquaintances.

We enjoyed our week at Esqueredo very much. After our time in Fornalutx, we certainly understand why people just never forget the magic of that village and your house! It was great - and the new parking lot with connecting path from the top terrace cuts a few steps off the access, a welcome development when one is toting luggage or groceries!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house and village were just so wonderful and the very extensive advice given by the owner was invaluable. We really hope to return, maybe next year. Fornalutx is indeed a gem.

We had a smashing time. In all respects this was a great holiday. We did everything we wanted to do, and it felt that we were in a home not a holiday house as Esqueredo is filled with so many finishing touches.

The owner (Christopher) was a pleasure to deal with, providing lots of very useful and helpful information. As for the village - it is wonderful!
