Santa Ponsa holiday apartment

This apartment lived up to expectations. Walking to the town was easy, and more or less on the level. The use of a lift made access to the first floor apartment quick and painless. The pool and gardens were maintained to a very high standard. At times the sound of mowers and trimmers could become a bit intrusive, if sitting outside, but that was the only draw-back. The double bed was one of the most comfortable that I have slept on when on holiday. All the kitchen equipment functioned perfectly and the Sky reception on T.V. was excellent (far better than in some other apartments we have stayed in on Majorca). The standard of cleanliness was very high, and the bathrooms beautiful. Fluffy towels were provided.

At the time of our stay, the lock on the outer perimeter gate was not functioning, and the apartment did not offer a safe for personal possessions, so we kept valuable property and passports with us at all times. There are two other lockable doors before the apartment door, so perhaps we were being a little over-cautious!
Santa Ponsa is a good resort, with plenty of lovely restaurants and a lovely beach. There are sufficient good shops for provisions and many souvenir shops selling more incidental goods.
We were greeted cordially on our arrival at the apartment, and briefed on how to use equipment etc and who to contact if we had problems. We had pre-arranged a 'welcome' food package, and enjoyed a very welcome refreshment before setting out to purchase food for the week.
Our holiday was in June 2008, and the weather was rather unsettled, so all the mod-cons of the apartment made staying in almost as good as going out. The terrace is partially covered, which allowed us to enjoy refreshments outdoors while watching a pretty spectacular storm!
The apartment is good value, particularly if being shared between 4 people. There was just myself and my brother as occupants, so it was more expensive each, but we both thoroughly enjoyed the week and felt we had had value for money.
I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who likes a peaceful place to stay with excellent surroundings and access to many good restaurants without the use of a car. Lovely!
