El Toro is an up market residential area and is not over commercialised with only 1 hotel - a 5 star. It has all the amenities required including beach, restaurants, bars, supermarket and cafes. There is also an open air stage where bands perform in summer. The beauty of El Toro is its closeness to a complete range of attractions. The nearest large resort, Santa Ponsa, is 5 minutes drive and has an enormous beach and a restaurant and bar for everyday of the week. Palma with its wonderful architecture, cultural attractions, shops, clubs and restaurants is only 15 minutes drive. Golf, tennis, horse riding, diving, water skiing and mountain walking are less than 10 minutes drive.

There are 3 golf courses within a few minutes drive - Santa Ponsa, Poniente and Andratx. Green fees in 2007 for the first two are £55. Andratx is £71. There are a further 4 golf course within 15 minutes drive - Bendinat, Son Muntaner, Son Vida and Son Quint. Fees start at £52. Clubs and buggies are available to hire and it is also possible to reserve tee times online
