Can Colom - the perfect holiday villa, honest!!

This beautiful finca is our families perfect holiday destination. My husband and two children age 11 and 12 and myself will be going once again this year, 2008, which will be our 4th year of returning. Every year it just seems to get better even when you didnt think it could!
We decided 4 years ago to hire a villa to give us more space, privacy and not have to fight for a sunbed! We chose Pollenca as it is a much quieter area away from the hustle and bustle of Port Pollenca but only 10 minutes drive away in a car. We hoped back then it was the perfect choice and we were proved right.
Martyn, the owner, is a lovely welsh man who we got on with from the day we enquired about the finca. Four years later and we can definately say he is now our friend.Very helpfull and you can always get him with any queries on his mobile.
The finca is spacious, very clean, well maintained and tidy, with all mod cons. It is cleaned once a week and the bedding is changed at the same time.The swimming pool is a wonderful addition where the children can splash, swim and dive, whilst the adults can sit and relax in the plunge pool - perfect! The gardens are lovely and well maintained, plenty of room to kick a football around.
The air conditioning is wonderful, within 5 minutes of turning it on when returning from a day out the finca is lovely and cool.
We always hire a car whilst we are there as we like to travel into Port Pollenca to go on the beaches there and eat at many of the wonderful cafes and restaraunts there, the Brisas restaraunt on the pine walk in Port Pollenca (yellow sun umbrellas outside) is one of our favourite places to eat.
Pollenca town is a 10 minute walk from the finca. Lots of friendly locals there, we love sitting in the square in Pollenca, having a drink and a meal - lots of good food places to sample, try the back streets as well. Once a week there is a market in Pollenca and the same in Port Pollenca.
There is a golf club just over the road from the finca which serves lovely food with fantastic views. Chidren friendly (as are most places around and about)
The waterpark in Alcudia ( 20 mins drive away) is great.
The monastery (Puig de Maria) on the hill you can see from the finca is a lovely place to visit.
The Pirates family show in Magaluff is brilliant for all ages.
All in all a beautiful villa in a wonderful part of Majorca.
