Perhaps the most magical village in Mallorca, Deia sits under the peaks of the Teix Mountain. From the house it is a 5 min drive to the beach (cala Deia) or a 30 minute walk down through an ancient donkey trail to the clear blue Mediterranean Sea.
Deia is set in the spectacular, mountainous, north west corner of Mallorca, 40 minutes drive from Palma airport. Car hire is recommended to explore the area.
5 minutes drive (25 minute walk - unsuitable for small children) to the village, 20 minutes drive to the beautiful valley of Soller, with the Soller market town and picturesque port.
Famous as a writers and artists community, Deia is also vibrant at night, with live music from its various bars and high quality restaurants. The poet Robert Graves lived here. Deia has a good bakery and supermarket, two banks and a post office. The recently opened Robert Graves Museum is well worth a visit. There are two excellent fish restaurants at the Deia Beach.
