This traditional stone house is situated in one of the most scenic areas of Mallorca. Set in terraced gardens and clinging to the side of a valley it enjoys stunning views of the picturesque village of Valldemossa and the majestic Sierra de Tramuntana. 'Son Niu Vell' has been lovingly renovated preserving 'olde world' charm, such as exposed wooden beams and terracotta tiled floors, and is beautifully furnished with quality antique furniture and fabrics so typical of the island. Arranged over two floors it offers a very high standard of comfortable holiday accommodation with all modern conveniences including central heating throughout. Not only is this a superb summer-time haven but it is also an ideal base during the Valldemossa, with its famous monastery, is within walking distance of the property and has a good selection of restaurants and open-air cafes, whilst the cathedral city of Palma de Mallorca with its nearby long sandy beaches, is less than half an hour's drive away.

The house is lovely, very nicely furnished and has a great view on the valley and Valledemossa. Several terrasses make it possible to enjoy sun or shadow throughout the day. It's extremely well situated, clean and well kept. The owner is very sympathetic and helpful with good advice about Mallorca and things to do.

nine of us spent a week in the Stone House using the property as a base for a walking holiday. The property is something of a gem.

Sebastien's in nearby Deia is a fantastic restaurant
