New villa in quiet countryside just 10 minutes walk from restaurants & shops. The accommodation comprises, on the first floor of one double bedroom and four twin bedrooms, all with access to a large balcony, which has spectacular views of the countryside and steps down to the pool area. There is family bathroom and a small separate shower room, with reduced height (sloping ceiling) on this floor. All the first floor bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and bedside tables. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a spacious living / dining room with feature fireplace and exposed beams. Entertainment is provided here with a Satellite TV, DVD Player and a stereo system. The separate large fitted breakfast kitchen benefits from all modern conveniences. The villa is very comfortable, being newly furnished and equipped throughout in traditional style.

The town of Alcudia and the compact port of Alcudia are situated on the neck of one of Mallorca's northern peninsulas. Many visitors take an Alcudia holiday for the beach alone with its 11 km of curving white sand that shelves gently into the sea. There are many beach-side cafés and restaurants and a great variety of water sports to be enjoyed as well as other local activities to keep you occupied including horse riding and golf. The nightlife is centred around the local bars and night-clubs which are lively but not rowdy. Alcudia is just what you would expect from a beach holiday, with a range of nearby cultural sites to visit as well. There is the walled town of Alcudia itself, with Roman ruins where a lovely Sunday market is held regularly. Further a field there are unspoilt mountain villages with stunning scenery, beaches and coves off the beaten track. The cosmopolitan city of Palma, capital of Mallorca, is just 50 kilometres away.

Fab villa and great location

A group of friends and I stayed at casa s'hort in June for one week and had a great time, the villa was spacious with plenty of outside space with alcudia old town just 10 min walk away with some lovely shops and restaurants.

The beach is not walking distance but this did not bother us as we had a car and found driving around alcudia very easy.

I Would definitely rent the villa again.

Relaxing Holiday By The Pool - Aug 2008

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay ay Casa S'hort. The property was clean and well maintained and the description was fairly accurate. However the beach which is described as being 1km was difficult to find (we only found lots of rocky coastline and what seemed a private hotel beach near Es Bacares during the week we stayed!) ... but this was definately not an issue as we spent most of the time in the pool enjoying what was probably the most relaxing holiday we've had for some time! There's a couple of supermarkets within easy walking distance (approx 10 mins) of the villa on the way to the old town of Alcudia. We thought the town itself was wonderful - its not too touristy and has a wide range of small shops and restaurants. Unless you hire a car the more lively side (Port D'Alcudia) is definitely not within walking distance - but for us the villa and its location were ideal. However points to note - those with small children may have concerns about the saftey aspects of the old well in the gardens or the balconies (although we had no problems) but I think that its just down to the fact that Spanish health and safetfy appears to be just a lttle more relaxed than in the UK (you'll know what I mean if you visit the old town) - and the surrounding area is being developed and although again we had no problems ourselves the property is located next to what appears to be a builders merchant (Big Mat Verger) and the building plots nearby look as though they will be developed very soon.
