Mallorca Pool Villa Sa Cova , near beach
Sa Cova Foradada is in a tiny rural community hidden away in marvellous untrammelled countryside, just a five minute drive from the superb sandy beaches of Cala Mondrago, Sa Cova Foradada is a pristine little house, bursting with character and charm and set in lovely, whimsical gardens with great swathes of bougainvillaea and numerous varieties of flowering shrubs, as well as orange, lemon and almond trees, plus the odd stately palm. When you first arrive, the peace and quiet has an almost monastic quality and at the front of the house a pretty vine-covered terrace with masses of flowers and potted plants, provides a warm and colourful welcome. The entrance door leads into a small hallway with, on one side, a neatly furnished double bedroom and a modern tiled shower room. On the other side of the hallway, a narrow wooden staircase leads to a little gallery bedroom tucked away in the eaves with a single bed and an ideal den for a teenager.

One of three houses in a tiny rural community hidden away in marvellous untrammelled countryside, just a five minute drive from the superb sandy beaches of Cala Mondrago. For shops and restaurants, the picturesque little fishing village of Porto Petro is just 2 km away, whilst for more choice and variety, the local market town of Santanyi and Cala D'or are ten to fifteen minutes by car. The seaside town of Cala D'Or is blessed with seven idyllic sandy coves protected by rocky pine clad headlands and washed by a turquoise sea. Over the years Cala D'Or and its Port, stopping place for opulent sailing yachts and motor boats, has grown into a sophisticated resort where appealing plazas, provide excellent shops and restaurants as well as open air bars and lively night spots to suit all ages and tastes A few kilometres inland, evidence of affluence remains discreetly hidden behind high stone walls and the peace and tranquillity of rural Mallorca remains unaffected by tourism.

| Notes: | Parents please note: The raised pool has a minimum depth of 1.5 m and from the narrow terraces around the pool there is a similar unprotected drop of 1.5 m. There are also a number of pretty but prickly cacti in the gardens! |
When you first arrive,
The peace and quiet has an almost monastic quality and at the front of the house a pretty vine-covered terrace with masses of flowers and potted plants, provides a warm and colourful welcome. The entrance door leads into a small hallway with, on one side, a neatly furnished double bedroom and a modern tiled shower room. On the other side of the hallway, a narrow wooden staircase leads to a little gallery bedroom tucked away in the eaves with a single bed and an ideal den for a teenager.
Further down the hallway,
The neat, galley style kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven and large fridge freezer, plus attractive fitted cupboards and two gleaming lengths of marble work surfaces. Beyond the kitchen, the living room has an appealing farmhouse ambience with beamed ceiling and high shelving containing a colourful collection of local ceramics. There's also a feature fireplace and dining alcove in one corner, whilst at the opposite end of the room is a door to a spacious twin room, softly lit by dappled light from windows to the rear. From the living room, patio doors lead out to a lovely covered terrace fringed by grapevines and with remarkably serene views across miles of open countryside. The terrace is furnished with a large rustic table and benches, for long and lazy lunches, as well as comfortable sunloungers for siestas! Steps lead down from here to a purpose built barbecue and beyond gravelled pathways meander off through the lovely gardens to the oval shaped swimming Pool.
Sa Cova Foradada
Also has a large tiled roof terrace, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, perfect for sunbathing. For shops and restaurants, the picturesque little fishing village of Porto Petro is just 2 km away, whilst for more choice and variety, the local market town of Santanyi and Cala D'or are ten to fifteen minutes by car, which we consider is essential for this property. The owners, two quiet Mallorquin sisters in their sixties, live next door and look after the gardens and pool, with what can only be described as tender loving care.

The Accommodation Sa Cova Foradada was exactly right for us, loved the house the gardens and the peace and quiet. It was even nicer than we imagined, can't wait to return.

what a fantastic holiday. sa cova foradada has been a great place to stay, quiet, peaceful and still within easy reach of resorts. We even had no car for a week and taxi's were easy to book and cheap. To wake up with peacocks wandering in the gardens and swim in the lovely pool has been magic.
