La Solana is situated along a small private lane on a pine-clad mountainside 1 km from the picturesque old village of Capdepera. The house overlooks the fishing port and holiday resort of Cala Ratjada, (about 2 kms away), with views of the sea. It is ideal for families and adult groups and those seeking peace and quiet, yet is within easy reach of many shops, fine restaurants and nightlife. Nearby are superb sandy beaches and secluded coves, the nearest being 10 minutes walk. There are terraces for both the house and the pool for sunbathing/dining. The property is the private family residence of the owner and is furnished to a very high standard in the traditional style with every modern amenity. A car is advisable, and rental can be arranged with pick-up at the airport, 65 minutes away. A complimentary CD with audio is available on request.

A quiet area set among hills and pine woods with an extensive view of the bay of Cala Ratjada, a holiday resort and important fishing port. Enjoy a walk around the harbour & along the coast with a wide variety of craft shops & fine restaurants & bars to cater for all tastes. Just 1km away is the ancient village of Capdepera topped by a castle which is floodlit at night. Here you will find more bars & restaurants & the old square-the heart of the village. A relaxing place to sit and people-watch. There is a busy Wednesday market here. Elsewhere you will discover a good variety of beaches ranging from secluded coves to wide sandy bays. Something for everyone. Bird-watchers and wild-life enthusiasts will appreciate the immediate environment of the house with hoopoes, bee-eaters and many other species as frequent visitors. There is also a resident 'gineta' (civit) on the hillside. An excellent supermarket is within 1km.

THE HOUSE: The villa sleeps 6 in three double rooms. However, there is an additional folding bed for an extra person if required. There are also 2 cots, high chair etc. for a baby. The surrounding area is superb walking country, and there is an 18-hole golf course 10 minutes away by car, and further three within 20 minutes. With the high life only minutes away in Cala Ratjada, this quiet location is perfect for those who seek peace and quiet on their return. There are 5 terraces all perfect for sunbathing/dining outside or simply relaxing. Each has its own charm at different times of the day and year. Some prefer the 2 pool terraces, while others prefer the garden terrace with a wonderful view of the sea. From here you cannot see another house, only the green of the pines and the myrtle. The only thing to disturb your peace is the birdsong and the chirruping of cicadas in summer. There is a sun lounge with superb views of the bay-great for relaxed reading and catching the winter sunshine.

GOLF INFORMATION: La Solana is ideally situated for a golfing holiday and you will be spoiled for choice. There are three 18 hole and one 9 hole courses all within 20 mins drive. All are superbly maintained and offer a wide variety of challenging and interesting golf. CAPDEPERA GOLF (8 mins drive-18 holes) A very attractive mountain setting,and a well balanced layout offering some long holes with wide fairways and some short ones offering a very small target. An impressive clubhouse offers a warm welcome.

MORE COURSES: CAÑAMEL GOLF CLUB (10 mins drive-18 holes) An interesting and varied course; well worth the visit. An interesting feature is the old farmhouse left on the 9th. Greens, fairways and trees are noted for their quality. PULA GOLF (12 mins drive-18 holes) A new course offering very comfortable facilities. Relatively flat, and offering a variety of differently styled holes. Spectacular views towards nearby mountains.

We have just returned from our second holiday at La Solana. I think we would have to spend many years searching to find anything that matches it.We love its tranquility, amazing sea views and fantastic facilities. It is so spacious and has everything a family could want. The pool is wonderful. It is ideally located to visit many parts of the island, having a good road network. There are several secluded beaches in walking distance and larger beaches a short drive away.

La Solana has a beauty & charm of its own which instantly relaxes (along with the bottle of Cava waiting for us upon arrival)! The villa really did feel like a home from home, and our two boys loved the open space & room to run around. The location is stunning & peaceful with fantastic views over Cala Ratjada, and the nearby beaches esp.Cala Agulla(?!) are child friendly.
The only negative is that the pool area which is reached by quite steep steps is unsuitable for v young children, however, we were able to restict access by clever use of sun loungers!!!
The owner is extremely helpful and friendly,and I would have no hesitation in recommending La Solana.

The Villa is located in a quiet relaxing area but close to every place you would want to visit. All the rooms are large & all the bedrooms are en-suite with air con. Plenty of room inside as well as outside, well maintained & clean.With the Villa being cut into the side of a hill the views to Cala Ratjada & the bay are superb any time of the day.The Pool is big enough & deep enough to have a good splash.
We,ve just spent a couple of weeks here & thoroughly enjoyed it.A bbq on the rear patio with a few bottles of wine in the evening comes highly recommended.

We, as a family, have stayed at La Solana so many times that our 5 year old now calls it "his villa"! Great relaxing times there, and key was the whole holiday experience booked from the owners. Easy to book including car hire from Guya cars - always a car at Palma airport for us on arrival, just no hassle and an easy drive to the villa.

La Solana is hugh and wonderful for us - fully equipped and it's home from home for us too, and in a quite location - but with loads of fun in the days and nights just a short drive into Cala Rajada. Even closer are the local cafes/restaurants in Capdepera - try the 'Orient' for a sunny budget breakfast, or lunch.

The pool is great along with the BBQ, laundry facilities, terraces and views. The traditional furnishings create a "local feel" too - a great getaway. A bottle of CAVA in the fridge awaited our arrival ....

Me and my family had a great time in this house and it's located in the best possible way with a spectacular view. I recommend it highly if you want a quiet relaxing holiday.
