Casa Ladera is a beautiful, romantic villa in the Mountains of Pollensa, (North Mallorca) with a private, HEATED pool and air con in all bedrooms. The villa, is in a secluded setting but still close enough to Pollensa Old Town and local beaches of Puerto Pollensa and Cala San Vincenc. The house, which has been comprehensively refurbished and modernised to a high standard, is an ideal place for a peaceful summer holiday in the unspoilt area of Northern Mallorca where you can enjoy magical mountain views and spectacular sunsets from the terrace. The villa is reached via a series of stone steps which lead up to the front door through the charming gardens of bougainvillea, hibiscus and other vibrant Mediterranean flowers as well as two lily ponds full of frogs! The private, heated pool is set to one side of the villa with large sunbathing patio and sunbeds. There is also a built in BBQ, bar and changing area.

The new town of Puerto Pollensa with its restaurants, shops, marina and sheltered beaches is only 10 minutes drive away as are the picturesque coves of Cala San Vicente, where you can enjoy fabulous Spanish paella. The historic market town of Pollensa is only a 5 minute drive and the nearest supermarket only a couple of minutes by car. Tennis is available and there is also a good golf course close by. Pollensa is an ideal location for bird watching especially during the migrating season as the area is in the migratory path. Walking, cycling and riding are lovely early or late in the season when the weather is more temperate and the sailing is, of course, magnificent in the famous Pollensa Bay. Puerto Pollensa also offers a great choice of water sports including sailing, scuba diving, water skiing and there are also boats for hire should you wish to explore the bay. In Pollensa old town square you can find a good selection of restaurants and pavement cafes to relax in the shade.

  • There are three full bathrooms in the villa. Two are ensuite and the other is outside the second bedroom. All are modern with granite surfaces and separate showers. (The upstairs ensuite is brand new and we don't have photos or full description yet). To one side of the kitchen there is a cloak room with toilet, sink and further shower.

The Third Bedroom, with twin beds, is upstairs with a full bathroom ensuite. This room enjoys especially wonderful mountain views.

Notes: In the house, accommodation is all on one level except for the third bedroom, which is upstairs (and has magical view to the mountains as a result). The living room is cool and spacious, and has an interesting fireplace, a TV, satellite TV and CD player. The dining area is at one end of the living room next to the French windows that lead to the terrace. The terrace is a special place with wonderful views of the mountains and the Pollensa valley. It runs the full length of the living room and is hard to beat for al fresco dining. There is an awning that can be lowered to provide shade during the day and at night it is perfect for lying on a sun lounger and looking at the stars. The kitchen is a few steps up from the living room and is clean and modern with granite surfaces, fully fitted with microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. To one side of the kitchen there is a small utility area with washing machine, additional shower and lavatory.

Safety notes: We welcome families with young children to Casa Ladera every year, however we just draw your attention to the following safety issues. The terrace (outside the living area) which is set above ground overlooking the gardens, has a low wall surround, with bougainvillea plants growing above it, but no high railings, so please take care with young children. The swimming pool and lily ponds have low wall surrounds but are not fenced for children. The swimming pool and terrace are illustrated in the pictures on this website, but please do contact us for further information if required. Please note that the villa is in a quiet area and we do ask guests to be aware of other residents in respect of noise both during the day and at night.

Water Sports: The area is wonderful for all kinds of water sports including sailing, water skiing and diving. Boat hire and dive shops can be found in nearby Puerto Pollenca. Details available from the owner.

Bird Watching: Mallorca is in the migratory path and therefore Casa Ladera provides the ideal place to stay for keen bird watcher during the migrating season.

Golf: The fabulous Alcanada Golf Course is only 15 minutes drive from the villa and it is sometimes possible to negotiate favourable prices for our guests, depending on numbers and time of year. We are also happy to assist with bookings if required. Please contact the owner for details and assistance. Pollenca Golf Course is also only a five minute drive from the villa. Though smaller than Al Canada, this is a lovely picturesque course.

Beautiful, tranquil villa

This villa was fab for us - everything we needed and more. The website description doesn't really do it justice - it was much better than that, and so was the pool - so beautifully clean and warm. We all enjoyed the late evening bull-frog chorus!

We hadn't been to the Pollenca area before, but it was just the job for us and our three teenage/early 20's boys providing plenty to do. We went sight-seeing and walking in the mountains while they were scuba diving, so everyone was happy. And the weather was perfect - wall to wall sunshine all week.

Two Peaceful Weeks

Just back for 2 lovely peaceful weeks holiday. Casa Ladera was brilliant, so private and the only noise's were the goats and the frogs. We have booked several villa's via the internet and have since come to the conclusion they are never quite as nice as the photo's - so imagine my delight when Casa Ladera was actually better!

We ate at all our usual favourite restaurants and also enjoyed a few of your recommendations - El Molino, Siller, and Large at Son Serra. We found the gardens very beautiful too. We would definately be interested in booking again next year.

Nice villa in quiet area near Pollensa town

The villa was very nice but our holiday was spoiled by loads of ants both inside (particularly in the kitchen) and outside by the pool. My son was bitten several times on his face whilst sleeping and, on inspection, the ants were found to actually be in his bed!
The other slightly irritating thing was that there was very little china crockery although there was masses of plastic tableware which, for eating by the pool was fine, but for eating an evening meal inside was not! The dinner plates were really small.
There was also no bottle of wine as had been stated in the original advertisement and was something that we were really looking forward to on our arrival.
Owner's Response: Unfortunately ants are a problem in all hot countries and are easily dealt with by using appropriate sprays both inside and outside the house. They are ferocious hunters and so if food is left around they will quickly find it and move into the house. We have not had any problems such as has been mentioned here in 10 years of renting but if there were any problems in the future we would urge our guests to quickly get in contact with our resident manager (all numbers in the villa) who would respond to the problem immediately. For once the camera did not lie. We thought the setting and accommodation exceeded our expectations. Our holiday was a great success. (name and email address on request).

We had a fantastic week, we loved the villa, we loved the pool being set away from the house and the fridge over there was great. We really liked having both bath and beach towels too. My favourite part of each day was opening the shutters and sitting with a cup of tea looking at the mountains. The NW was much more beautiful than we expected and so easy to be in (no cuing along the sea front or waiting to park). We would love to rebook with you in the future.
