Places to holiday in South & East Menorca, Spain

Binibeca is split into two halves; Cala Torret is the residential area around the white sandy beach, where the majority of Menorca holiday villas in Binibeca are, and Binibeca Vell, the old fishing village. Binibeca Vell is extremely picturesque, where fine restaurants and cafes look over a small rocky inlet harbouring tiny white fishing boats.

Mahon (Mao) is Menorca’s capital. This bustling walled town sits serenely on the shore of a huge natural harbour, which is lined with beautiful beaches. Mahon is probably the first place you will see as you land at Menorca Airport, and a Menorca villa in Mahon is a great place to relax and enjoy the shopping, restaurants and beautiful sights of the Place Esplanada and Gobierno Militar.

South-eastern Menorca is known as the best area for snorkelling and scuba-diving in Menorca. There are some magnificent diving schools and dive sites in Binibeca, Punta Prima and S’Algar. The majority of water sports are also easy to enjoy, with equipment hire or lessons available in most disciplines available.

The beaches are of course a huge attraction in South and East Menorca. There is a mix of wide, sweeping tourist beaches backed by vibrant bar filled promenades, with parasols and water sport facilities, and there are the small picturesque and almost private cove beaches to be found amongst the rock outcrops. Which ever you are looking for, a holiday villa in the south or east of Menorca will be a perfect base.

Inland, the walking and cycling options are magnificent. There are a large number of marked trails and cycle hire is common.
