A lovely (2 twin bedroom) self-catering apartment with stunning sea views (with two balconies both with sea views) set in tranquil gardens in the exclusive Menorcan resort of Playas de Fornells. The safe, shallow unspoilt bay and beach of Cala Tirant are a 2 minute level stroll away via a private beach access. Residents are welcome to use two shared swimming pools (one for toddlers) both of which enjoy stunning views out to sea and across to the beach and bay. These pools are only one minute down the garden from the apartment. Local supermarkets, open every day, provide a wide range of fresh and frozen produce, including freshly baked bread and milk, making self catering a breeze. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and BBQ. Please note - Playas de Fornells is a quiet, relaxing family orientated resort. Whilst not essential, car hire is recommended for the more adventurous. Although there is a wealth of activities to do on your door step.

A short flight from the UK and a 30 minute drive bring you to this exclusive resort in the North of Menorca. The self-catering apartment, benefiting from 2 shared pools, sits in beautiful landscaped gardens and is a short stroll from a golden sandy beach and sheltered bay at Cala Tiran via a private beach access. Cafes, restaurants and even a cocktail bar are all within short walking distance, though this is a quiet resort. Fornells, a traditional fishing village famous for seafood, is a 5 minute drive. The historic cities of Mahon and Ciutadella are a short drive away. Not to mention the fabulous array of other beautiful beaches and famous golf course.

    Our local managing agents will meet you on arrival in resort (if out of hours there is a key safe available). But they are available each day (Sunday in an emergency) and are more than happy to provide help and advice if required.

Notes: Extra fold up beds can be provided on request at additional cost plus charge for extra occupancy. Please note - the property is designed to comfortably accommodate 4 adults, although a party of 5 can be accommodated if it includes small children. No smoking allowed inside apartment. Ceiling fans are installed in the bedrooms and open plan living area. Additionally there are stand alone fans available, these have been more than adequate for the comfort of our guests. Daily maid service available for extra cost. If you bring your own computer wireless broadband available at our managing agents offices or our friends Bar Okapi. Otherwise there are internet cafes in Fornells and Es Mercedal. The tv available for use with the dvd and video player only. Skye can be viewed at Bar Okapi. Fornells: A 5 minute drive away is the picturesque fishing village of Fornells. Famous for food (seafood in particular), Fornells provides an excellent selection of restaurants and bars, non-tourist shops, a market, banks and even a children playground which has swings, a slide etc. The King of Spain is said to eat here when holidaying on Menorca. The nearest golf course at Son Parc is just 10 minutes drive.

Mahon: A 20 minute drive away is Mahon, the capital of Menorca since 1721. It has strategic importance being one of the largest natural harbours in the world. The port itself is relaxing by day and buzzing by night, with many bars and restaurants. With narrow streets, pleasant shady squares with welcoming pavement cafes and shopping that ranges from the twice weekly market to the expensive designer boutiques, Mahon is a must on every visit to Menorca. As too is Ciutadella the former capital which is an historical magical port.

The apartment is unique in the resort as it benefits from two balconies (both with sea views) and also you access the apartment at ground level, but it is elevated inside, as our neighbour is built into the rock below. As a result the entry provides easy access with children and the elderly alike, but as you are at first floor level once inside, it provides privacy, stunning views, and it is safer, as the children cannot just run down the garden to the pool from the back of the apartment.

Had a wonderful relaxing time, its a lovely place, loved the pool. We'd certainly recommend your apartment & the resort. B J (9/ 06). Sob!! we're back home! When we arrived we found the apartment clean and as described. Our first night was very hot and we did feel that the ceiling fans struggled a bit (but it was mid August) after this the temperature cooled and was just perfect. There was enought to do in the resort but we are glad we hired a car for the second week. Perfect spot for families and we especially loved the balcony.

The apartment was clean and as described. The balcony was our favourite place over looking the bay. When we arrived it was very hot so the ceiling fans struggled but it was mid August! We had a lovely holiday and the resort had enough to offer but we are very glad we hired a car for the second week to be able to get out and about. However the local bus service was very good. We would definetely recommend the apartment for a family holiday.

pretty location with stunning views. close to a really fantastic beach with soft sand and also interesting rocky bits to explore! the pools are small but pretty, but without sun loungers which wasnt ideal!
its a nice quiet residential area, but there is some road noise - specially in the front bedroom. the apartment itself is clean, and has all you'd need - but it is quite small and basic!
overall, we had a really nice time. car hire is pretty much essential though, as its a 40 minuite walk to fornells and apart from the supermarket, theres only two restaurants and a bar nearby.
the local agents were very friendly and helpful.
Owner's Response: We are so glad that yet another family was very happy with their stay at our apartment, which has fabulous views, which the photos do not fully capture.
The pools are larger than most of the complex pools in the area and provide plenty of space to swim lengths or dive, with the toddles pool having plenty of room to paddle, splash and play.
Our apartment is within a very peaceful area, especially as we have very few neighbours near us. Although there is a road at the front of the property (where the kitchen is). This road is only used by some of the guests and owners within the Playa de Fornells community (it doesn't go anywhere else). So it is equivalent to a country road, as traffic is very infrequent especially given that there are several alternative roads into the area. In the seven years we have hired the apartment out this is the first time this has been mentioned.
Yes you have everything you need at our apartment and if you notice something missing just advise our friendly managing agents who will be most happy to help.
Our apartment is a bright airy (the photos again do not show the space well) traditionally Spanish property. With wooden furniture and tiled floors so the interior (which is redecorated and reapolstered) and its dimensions are typical of a holiday destination in Menorca. So it will be comfortable for your stay, especially given that it has two balconies (which is unique) so plenty of room to not only enjoy the views but also have the ability to use the second balcony to hang the washing out or escape from the family to read a book.
We can recommend affordable car hire, if you want to venture further afield, as Menorca has a wealth of beautiful places to visit. But there are enough amenities within the community of Playa de Fornells, with several more restaurants and cafes near the managing agents which is within easy walking distance. Alternatively our managing agent can arrange a taxi on occassions when you want to visit other places of interest.
