A delightful detached villa conveniently situated in a quiet residential area of Binibeca with fine sandy beach and good selection of restaurants and shops just a few minutes walk away. The accommodation is in a traditional Menorcian style and has 3 twin bedrooms, a family bathroom and separate shower room. There is a spacious lounge / dining room with open plan kitchen and breakfast bar. The villa is comfortable, and equipped throughout to a good standard. It is an ideal location for a quiet and relaxing holiday. A door from the lounge leads onto a covered terrace, equipped with table and chairs and a brick built barbecue. Benefiting from open sea views, this is ideal for ‘alfresco’ dining. A handful of steps lead down to extensive sun terraces and well maintained mature gardens with lawns, which surround the 8m x 4m swimming pool. Off road parking

Binibeca is in the Golden Triangle of Menorca away from busy hotels yet only 15 minutes drive from the portside restaurants of Mahon and Es Castell. Well worth a visit too, is the nearby town of San Luis with its many fine restaurants and market square. The resort of is made up of two separate areas; Binibeca Vell, which was designed by the famous Catalan architect, Antonio Sintes, in the 70’s to look like a genuine old Mediterranean fishing village with a maze of narrow alleys, Moorish arches, whitewashed houses with sun-soaked patios, and a little harbour. It’s a quaint, quiet and laid-back place with restaurants, bars, shops and squash courts. In contrast, Binibeca Nou has a gorgeous, sandy beach with sufficient space for sunbathing. It is 130m in length and 180m wide having fine golden sand and still waters, making it ideal for children. Low mountain vegetation surrounds the area and it is well sheltered from the sea by a large jutting rock and sand dunes to the rear.

Tha area of Binibeca is beautiful, it is fairly quiet but ideal for a family with small children. The villa is well situated within walking distance to the beach,bars and restaurants of the fishing village and restaurants in cala torret. The villa itself although in a traditional Menorcan style is in need of some TLC. My main concern is that when the double doors out to the patio are open the metal handle on the door comes into contact with a broken light switch which is unsafe and needs immediate attention.

The grounds to the villa are spacious with a large lawned area, however the sprinkler system was only fixed the day before leaving so the children couldn't play on it as it was to prickly to walk on. The pool is a good size but not really suitable for small children as it is fairly deep. The pool was never cleaned in the 2 week period we stayed which resulted in it being a municiple pool for insects, hence not using it in the second week.

I have used Solmar before and this Villa unfortunately isn't up to there usual high standards.
