The green landscape with golden, sandy beaches is almost completely unspoilt with a very welcoming, relaxing atmosphere making it a real favourite with discerning holidaymakers. Menorca is ideal for a family beach holiday in lovely surroundings, where nightclubs and commercial resorts are hard to find. Landscape and History: Individual towns of Menorca have festivals to celebrate the feast day of their patron saints. The first and largest of these festivals is the Fiesta de San Juan, which takes place in Ciutadella over the last weekend in June. The season ends with the Fiesta de Mare de Deu de Gracia in the capital, Mahon at the beginning of September. Menorca's other town and former capital, Ciutadella, has some fine Regency architecture, as well as a gothic cathedral.
