Situated at about 700 meters from the beach and 400 meters from the center of Calan Porter this villa in Menorca is nevertheless far enough from the busy nights. Pleasant and comfortable with views on the countryside from the sunny terrace on the top of the house. The villa (about 90sq m) has a living and dining rooms in its center and bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets on each side. The arrangement is perfect for 2 couples with children. Each bedroom (2 with full size beds, 1 with twin beds) has a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a fan. The kitchen is fully equipped: fridge/freezer, hob, oven, microwave, extractor and dishwasher. A washing machine is in a outbuilding laundry. The 2 bathrooms are fully tiled. The pretty garden with lemon tree, ficus tree, plants and shrubs is fully closed with walls. Garden chairs and table, sun loungers, parasol and BBQ are at your disposal. A private car park is in front of the house. Our manager is always at your disposal.

• Normally rentals run from Friday to Friday. A deposit of € 100 per person is requested with the booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before departure. The payments have to be done by cheque in € or by transfer in € to the bank account number of the owner. The account number is given when booking.

About Menorca

Menorca is for sure the quietest of the Balearic Islands, very different of Majorca with its high buildings and of Ibiza with its busy nights. Forty years ago there were few houses in Menorca and few tourists were coming. It's probably the reason why there are few high buildings. Evrywhere one can see white villas with green shutters. All around the island you can find a lot of beaches most of time situated in more or less large horseshoe bays. One hundred of them can be counted: some of them accessible by car, some only by walking or by boat. Even in summer the island is not too busy and is a perfect place for family holidays. Visiting the main towns or villages (about ten) of the island is a really wonderful pastime. So is visiting old stones of the 'talaîotic' civilisation which left in Menorca one or the most natural museum in the world. The port of Mao is a very interesting area. It's one of the largest natural port in Europe.

About Calan Porter

Situated on the south coast of Menorca, in 1962 Calan Porter was one of the first 'urbanisations' (holidays resort) to be built in Menorca. In 1964 there were less than 50 houses and an hotel. Now it's a small village with several hundreds of villas. It is situated on the cliffs about 50 meters above the sea. Even in winter about 1.000 residents are living at Calan Porter.They are giving it a soul. At 7 miles from Mao and less than 6 miles from the airport it's a very well situated and practical place. Taxis and buses are available.

Shows in Menorca

In the main villages, week after week, from June (Saint John celebration in Cuidadella) to September in Calan Porter you can enjoy with 'jaléo' (a typical horse show) followed by fireworks. Every thurday night folk group use to perform Menorquin songs and danses at the Cultural Center in Mahon.
